Is indeed now part of the Slug and Lettuce chain. To my surprise ale was available - the unexciting choice of Bombardier or London Pride. Fans of premium lagers are somewhat better catered for - Peroni, Becks, Friuli, Staropramen and San Miguel. Usually full of suits but a far better option than the execrable Yates' next door.

For a chain pub in town, this one is strangely likeable. Quiet atmosphere, friendly staff, and not too many drunken idiots.

Good place to start your night off on the town as the drinks prices are fairly cheap and the atmosphere is friendly.

I don't like the massive, clunky, wooden tables and stools which seem to be a feature in many pubs nowadays, god know why.

This pub serves draught Hoegaarden which alone makes it worth a visit. The atmosphere is ok but don't bother on a matchday.

Okay place, nice to have a drink in during the day while shopping.

Better since it was refurbished and they now have the novelty of towers of Stella Artois. Not bad, but not the best place around. Good for a pub crawl venue though.

Has followed the trend of most Hogshead pubs in dispensing with most of its real ales. Now only Deuchars IPA and London Pride remains but at least the latter was well kept. Pub has two floors and has two pool tables on the top floor. Place is far too bright and the toilets need sorting out. On my visit, one cubicle had no lock on the door and the other had run out of toilet paper. Enjoyed surreptitiously checking out the girl with the low cut top playing pool. May as well have been playing topless, we wouldn't have see any more. Keep it up.
