user reviews of Belushis, Covent Garden

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Designed to pull in the tourists - and with Covent Garden prices to match.

Was pleased to find Bombadier on tap (albeit a bit stale), although the place is mainly aimed at people drinking fizzy stuff from bottles at cocktails. The wife's mojito wasn't all that (whole lime dumped in the glass for starters) so she was disappointed.

Agree about the grotty toilets and I also object to people coming around trying to sell you shots, although maybe that's what happens in popular places on a Saturday night (says the old man).

A lot of Yanks pop in to wave to the folks back home on a sort of famous webcam.

This is the third Belushis that I have found myself in and, as touched on before, they all seem to follow the same Walkabout like format, but with rock posters adorning the walls.

There is a selection of standard and premium lagers, but no real ale and the Guinness had run out on my visit. The staff seemed nice enough and I enjoyed the best of British band selection playing over the sound system. Obviously, being like a walkabout there are plenty of plasma screens and the pub has Sky Sports and Setanta. The toilets were an utter disgrace and looked like they had been used by herd of incontinent buffalo Sort it out you lazy feckers!

I think that Ill leave this place to the backpackers whilst I drink in one of the far superior pubs in the area.

Good during happy hour on a Friday / Saturday (although they kept serving us bottles of beer with no labels which was quite disconcerting). Have always found the place to have a good atmosphere inside, although the bouncers can be difficult when trying to get in.

All in all this was a great pub.
Went in twice, once during the day and the other in the evening..daytime was more relaxed and in the evening was more loud and boulshy had a great time at both.
Didn't find drinks at all that expensive (there are dearer places in CG) the only down point was that the girl behind the bar was constantly suggesting you give her a pound from your change as a tip!! so i suggest going to the bar with the correct amount if you can!! unless of course you want to tip them.

Great experience!

Their web site suggests it is a sports bar but they weren't showing the biggest football match ever between 2 English clubs.
Poor beer selection too.
If you like Walkabout, go to Walkabout. If you don't like Walkabout, don't go here

Back-packer magnet bar which entices Antipodeans, foreign students and tourists. Bar staff Sunday night were complacent and unbothered by customer needs- apart from bloke with the tattoos and beard who seemed to be left alone, isolated to work the bar as his colleague was more interested in mucking around with 'their' own in house juke box, playing 90's heavy rock overly loud solely for his own need and barley bothering to get off his stool to attend to the two obvious groups of party goers who frustratingly had to wait single file to be served?

Visited this pub on a Friday evening. Good music and lively atmosphere, but very crowded. Bar staff were all so drunk that they completely forgot to charge us for two rounds, so average price of a beer was greatly reduced!

Expensive except for happy hour, but then that's to be expected. Good fun place, apart from that, loud music and lots of cool, friendly people.

Keg only - Fosters, San Miquel and Kronenberg Blanc. Trendy, modern cafe style. Quite cool and relaxed.

Not a bad bar if you can get over the staff thinking their gods gift good range of bottled beers

Its a great bar! Have to disgree with that last comment! Its got great music, great clientele and the staff are really friendly. They have good deals if central London prices are getting to you. I have always had a good time here. Maybe if you dont like Rock or a laid back atmosphere...not for you.

this is the best bar in covent garden .Atmoshere to die for level of trade busy but you can always get a drink . Peole who go to this bar are travlers and any one who likes traveling . It has taken over the role that the punh had about ten years ago as a place to meet drink swop stories and sleep with interesting people. the decor is amazing . one bad point is that the new boss has painted over certain area's of the wall with the menu this was a bad idea
