Those Channel 5 'consolidate your debts into one' adverts must be aimed at people who drink in this hell-hole, as buying a round in here would set you back around the same amount as a small African country's GDP.

It's the Oracle riverside what do you expect! It's over priced and soulless but everyone should realise that by now about all the pubs over there.

Very boring, over priced and the beer goes flat just after the first sip. Food passable. The older barman has a very B.A.D attitude problem!! Wouldnt reccomend!!

With regard to the previous reviewer... where on earth CAN you barter for the price of your beverage?... I clearly need to drink with you from now on!!
As for the bar - bland, bland, bland. Not that there isn't a market for it - the place pulls in the punters with ease on a regular basis. Just don't go expecting anything special.

Very over-priced and Im afraid the atmosphere isnt upto much. Unfortunately Getting used to that with Reading! Oxford has always been good but am now jumping on train to Basingstoke which has become has pleasantly surprised me. somewhere new and refreshing!

It was alright until the barman spilt wine all over me and the person I was with! Didn't even get a free glass or anything.
Overpriced as well, won't be going back!

Quite expensive and not willing to barter. Still, outside seating is good and food is reasonable...

'The Slug and Lettuce' combines high-quality food with a relaxed drinking area. I have visited the Reading location many times, and have always been impressed with the overall level of service and quality of the food and drink. As a confessed Martini lover, the only negative point for me is that they are unfortunately unable to make Martini cocktails, but this really doesn't matter overall. It's a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere that attracts friendly and discerning clientele.

Prolly the best option if you must have a drink by the Oracle centre. Waitress service, even if just drinking, OK food. Usual Chain pub atmosphere.

overcrowded, overpriced, staffed by overworked staff. Same atmosphere as the moon- ie none. Much nicer pubs exist, even in Reading!
