Definately no frills but Barman made you welcome. Had an ok pint of Wells - Bombardier and they were also serving Courage - Best.

Reasonable place, proper boozer, no frills.
Beer selection not too interesting for real ale types, but the locals seem happy enough with it. (I've rather taken against Doom Bar , seems to be even more bland than I remember it)
Last pint of bitter I had in here was at 'lager temperature', which cures itself eventually (in summer anyway) but is a bit offputting ...

A locals pub, not unfriendly and the Doombar was in pretty good nick. Fairly busy so must be doing something right in these recessionary times. I would pop in for a pint again.

The food gets rave reviews and rightly so. Great spread of well kept ales for a relatively small venue. This is a real community pub, where you can stoke the fire and shoot the breeze with the locals. The music selection is unbelievable - Just request it - I bet they've got it ! It's particulary a riot when you get a good Sunday crowd in !

The best Sunday Roast ever! The chef's on fire! Good real ale, lively atmosphere, very nice looking barmaid as well.

Called in there for lunch today, and had a clear pint of Pride, and arguably the best Bubble & Squeak with Roast Beef I've had in years!!! Everytime I need to go and see Southern Electric from now on, this will be my lunchtime stop-off! (Nice looking barmaid too!)

Occasionally the beer's good and the company is lively, other times the beer is distinctly average and the company stare at you blankly if you enter the public bar.

Usually has Pride on (experimented briefly with West Berks but that seems to have gone). Also has daily papers available. Split into two bars, the public bar is pretty basic. The 'other' (I wouldn't say Lounge) bar is a bit nicer.

A mixed bag, maybe worth 15 minutes if in town.

Poor standard of beer gives your stomach the clean out, bad service and landlord.

The place to be seen while waiting for your Chinese takeaway...

An OK pub, with slightly questionable real ale.
