Went before and after The Specials gig, as the Beehive ( wetherspoons) was mobbed.. Beer was reasonably priced and ok. Plenty of space to sit..dance floor to skank around on, good DJ

I went to the NME awards at Brixton academy last week, and we thought we would pop in to Plan B on the way out. Hadn't been before, but the place looks great. They had a DJ playing party tunes, and there was a great atmosphere. The drinks were reasonable too. Will definitely go back soon a the weekend.

Hadn't been to Plan B in ages, and went back this weekend. They've completely changed the inside to how I remembered it. Seems much more spacious with loads more room to dance. Good crowd and a great atmosphere. I'd forgotten how good a place it is.

terrible gaff. when i was eventually served, the bar staff were too busy having fun there seemed to be a genuine piss take of me and the money i wanted to spend. I ordered a beer done straight away and a virgin mary. this took ages as the staff kept chatting and having fun, sorry for spending me money. anyhow eventually i get a plain tommy juice, i asked for ice, a slice, salt, pepper, tobasco, etc it took 2 minutes to get half of this coz i kid you not my charmless barmaid starting eating?!?! i i then said look are you too busy to serve me? she flew off the handle so i demanded to see the manager who proptly said if i caused trouble i woulb be barred. HELL HOLE

A pleasant alternative to the crowded pubs along the High Road if you are on your way to the Academy for a gig. Exposed brickwork and comfy minimalist style furniture make for a nice relaxed atmosphere and there's plenty of space inside umlike the Goose or The Backstage Bar just round the corner.
They do a good deal of a 2 for 1 Happy Hour on bottled beers on gig nights which helps eliminate the price difference between this and its rival venues in the locale, which might have been the only drawback until now.
Bar service is fairly fast and attentive but they do that annoying give your change back on a tray thing implying that it is the done thing to tip a barman for going to a fridge opening a door, getting out a couple of bottles of beer and opening them before plonking them on the bar in front of you, which surely is their bloody job, n'est pas?
Cocktails looked nice but they are extremely expensive (about 9 a throw and no happy hour on those, oh no!).
Not a place I'd choose to spend the whole night, especially as the music (ranging from easy listening to techno)isn't to my tastes, but a nice place to pop into for a couple.

Amazing night out here... Good music, good staff, good people... but the one thing I like most about this bar is that it doesn't aspire to be anything it's not, unlike most modern bars.

It's refreshing to drink somewhere that isn't pretentious, disingenuous or superficial.

Nice bar, has 2 for 1 on bottled beer if you get in early. Good music late into the night.

very cool place, its a smart cocktail bar thats chilled and relaxed. the bar is great what a selection!! the finest back bar in south london the bartender boasted there are a lot of average places inthe area so this is one you can rely on for a really good time all the time.

I started going to Plan B when it very first opened and I used to be a regular and loved the place. Over the years I haven't been quite so often, anyhow when I went on Saturday after a break of 12 months I was actually quite shocked! The staff and service were up to their usual great standards but the clientele left alot to be desired for! The guys were sooo sleazy (and trust me I don't mind a bit of sleaze every now and then for a laugh) but it was almost on the side of being aggresive. After 1 drink my friend and I decieded to leave after Mr Octopus and Mr Letch got to much for us.

Great place. Smart without being pretentious and funky decor. Good range of cocktails and good deals (6.50 for 4 Rolling Rocks). Friendly staff and excellent DJ lineups. Check it.

great music and brixton definitely needed this place, but everyone's right about the bar staff! they need to 1) get more, 2) hurry up the one's that are there, and 3) stop only serving girls with cleavage!

wooyeah - Brixton has needed a place like this for a while... Sunday nights are blinding (all the hell for leather people are out to squeeze that last bit of fun out of the weekend). They used to have a wicked plum/sultana steeped rum that tasted so sweet that you'd drink 5 before you realised it was serious dancing juice. Got to say that I've never had problems getting served in there...

definitley the best place in brixton at the moment. good crowds, wicked music, nice cocktails - even the bouncers are cool. only problem are the bloody queues, especially if there's someone good on. if you're going to go, get there early...

v good. shame about the bar service however, which is shit (please get more staff! - and ones that can mix cocktails). howver, excellent music policy, great layout and just what you need on a friday night, and just what brixton needs as an antidote to the amount of shit crusty bars!!!

About 2 minutes from the tube station, on teh opposite side of the road, near the Academy, this is a storming place to drink at any time. It has a dancefloor and Big Name house D.J.s regularly play there, often on Sundays. Staff are really good (even though it gets busy). My friend got short changed, only realised 5 minutes later and got her money back with no hassle or arguments after the till had been checked. The music is not too loud for conversation, and the clientele is cool and good-looking, but not pretentious. You can dress down and feel comfortable, and dress up and feel OK, because this place doesn't try too hard. At its best after a gig at the Academy.
