please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Of the five establishments we visited on The Parade this was the best - although that could be construed as damning with faint praise. At first it didn't look as though we'd be allowed in. My mate and I were both asked for ID - I didn't have any. Being two gentlemen at the wrong end of our 50's we were momentarily left speechless, before bursting out laughing,. This appeared to embarrass the doorman and he let us in to the vast hangar that is Walkabout. There was no real ale, but the Coopers Pale Ale (from Adelaide I believe), was tasty, the music wasn't deafening, and the clientele semed friendly. It could have been worse.

Smells really filthy in here.

Good bar to go to if you want to watch the football. Decor and Furniture changed recently to create bit of a different look. Decent bar staff and food. Low rating probably due to one bouncer in particular. He likes to bar people and generally create a problem where there isn't one. Know a girl that got barred for blowing a kiss through the window! Then I got barred and promised to be let back in 2008, was having a drink in there yesterday joined a friend outside who was having a cigarette and he re-barred me and stated the new management is carrying on all the old bars.

Large cavernous bar that follows the Walkabout theme. Popular for watching sport due to the numerous TV and massive screen. Interesting and good value menu.

Always go there after Saracens matches or when I'm going out with my rugby team... good bar for that kind of night out! Nice mix of drinks, friendly bar staff, good facilities... although the door staff are pretty unrelenting, if you don't have ID you're not getting in! Which is fair enough really-I have just had a few annoying experiences where I've left my drivers licence at home and only had student ID or something like that and not got in as a result. So remember your ID if there's any doubt of age!

monday nights are coming on strong us group of girls who hit watford on a monday like house music and its the good alternative to all the urban music.

its good that its over 18 on a monday now so the whole group can get in.

doorstaff are friendly and so are barstaff

drinks ore so cheap as most of the stuff behind the bar is all 1.50

superb night with quality music which you would not expect to hear in a walkabout

rock on WALKABOUT watford !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went there a couple of mondays ago it was wicked im so glad its OVER 18s on a monday. the music is so good the dj plays funky house and club classics just what watford needs on a monday as everywhere else is R&B and garage

a no attitude venue and will always win my mondays as most of the drinks are only 1.50 and no door entry

WICKED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Quality boozer. Decent music, tons of birds, and most of the time you can get to the bar fairly easily.

can anyone explain to me when the pub is at capacity during the England World Cup people STILL queue up outside even tho they have no chance of getting in through the front door as it is one in one out!
anonymous - 27 Jun 2006 13:11
great boozer for sunday afternoon to watch the footy on any of the many screens!! few beers lovely food with generous portions and decent priced beer!!! staff always try hard to get every1 served fast in !!

This place is a hole. Whats the deal with all the animal paintings on the wall, is this place meant to be a australian heritage museaum or a bar? im confused?!?!
Its quite ironic that this place is over 21s tho half the people in their look like they're just out of nappies.
The bar staff are rude, the bouncers are rude, the people in the toilets who try to charge you for washing your hands??!?!?whats that about!?!?!?!?
I will however give credit where its due, the only good thing about this place is the EXIT.
fat_wayne - 14 Apr 2006 14:58
What's that Skip? Miserable Ozzy barstaff? Where? Oh, everywhere!

I found the doormen at the pub unnecessarily aggressive and awkward towards too many customers

The pub inside had good atmosphere and music was good.

I was looking forward to a walkabout opening in town as all the others I have been in have been Great, This one is a shame though! If you wanna watch sport then there is more than enough tv's! Staff are slower than the average and the atmosphere could be so much better. If you come across a different walkabout go in and compere it to this one and you'll understand!!

A Wlakabout with a dress code policy? No thanks!!
evilbazza - 1 Apr 2005 11:35
Massive place but the music is dire. Good bar if ya over 30 & like cheese music!
marksy80 - 21 Jan 2005 13:34
For the love of God - Please Mr Bar Manager sir, could you NOT play bleedin music over the top of the pre-match, half time and post match analysis. It drives everyone I know around the bend (including at least one of uyour British staff memebers) Maybe its done this way in OZ/NZ/SA* (Delete as applicable) but It aint right. Cheers!
Gareth - 26 Aug 2004 17:04
sorry but what a con - ultra expensive poor food (service & what you buy!)busy due to massive amount of sports screens but as in any walkabout no atmosphere, unbothered staff, and a complete lack of product choice...
Dominic - 26 Jun 2004 06:03
No proper beers, only fizz lagers. A large one room bar with many tv/video screens.
It's OK but not for ale drinkers.

big place..good staff...good times to be had!
james bond - 30 Dec 2003 18:57
Was in here one lunchtime soon after it opened - large place and quite empty so no problems getting beer and food. Lots of tvs showing sports.
gareth - 19 Dec 2003 09:29
New place in Watford resting in Bar risas hole (good riddence), bit pricey, but plenty of cheap offers (free coke/lemonade if your the designated driver of a 3+ group), brilliant music and great bands (thursday and sunday). New staff so it can be a bit slow.
