I tend to agree here with Masterpint47, particularly with the retarded polish manager, who obviously has a wee tiny little pecker. Not the greatest of pubs by a longshot. Definitely down to poor management. There is also a really annoying trampy looking one with shit hair called Raph I think. This weener is the pinnacle of dickdom. Beware!!!!!

Avoid like the plague. Bad bar staff who can't speak English. An arrogant Polish manager, unclean tables. The clientele look like they haven't bathed for years. Enough said.

I don't often frequent Wetherspoons pubs but this was a change of scene on Saturday lunchtime. Ruddles County was an amazing £1.64 a pint and the tasty steak and kidney pudding was also ridiculously cheap. No problems with the service even though I had to ask for a taster when the lack of proper style descriptions clearly wasn't helping me choose.

Avoid like the plague, could have been a nice pub but ruined by an obnoxious, vile, awful little cow manager called Emma i believe. She is the trashy pale white skinned council estate looking bit of trash with the brunette ponytailed hair. I have been racially abused on many occasions by her also bullied and shouted at because of my skin colour. I simply cannot believe the area manager would hire such a person, it speaks volumes of his abilities and judgement. I have also personally witnessed on numerous occasions Emma Re-use dirty glasses to unsuspecting customers in an attempt to spread STD's all the time. She's a vile little witch. She always serves whites first even if a non white were first in the queue. Come on area manager do something about this now, its horrifically deplorable what is going on here. If your fancy a bout of herpes, thrush or hepatitis b enjoy, otherwise for your own safety avoid or be stupid!!!!!!!!

Used to drink in here and agree with what people have said but started going back in recently and it has improved greatly since some new managers and staff have come in. Cannot believe that they are selling Carlsberg for 1.60!

The building isn't really fit for purpose, a sort of long room, with stairs down to the bar; Not a great wetherspoons, tables don't get cleaned too often and the bar staff (particularly the Chinese guy) constantly smash bottles into the recycler bin which for some reason is inside the pub. It's open later than other streatham pubs so ideal for those who want that post 1130 beer, otherwise don't bother

This pub is still reasonable... but their WiFi providing company TheCloud are a bunch of muppets, with NO security on their connections. Yet, you still have to provide personal details to register and use the service - yes, over that unsecured connection... One can use made-up details, so I don't get the point at all... Hence, 'muppets'. Anyway, not the particular pub's fault, but I thought I'd note it. Yes, it's free, but so's dogshit - doesn't make it worth using...

Usual Wetherspoons place. I don't see how saving 2 over the course of an evening's drinking is worth the hassle versus a full-priced place. Great intimate and leafy garden though. Good in Summer when you can look up at the stars.

Its a spoons innit? It does the job, but its hardly going to win any awards. Mind you, Streatham High Road is almost devoid of decent/non-rough boozers at that end, so I suppose you could do worse.

Cheap, probably why it's full of old codgers and pissheads spending their dole money.

As you know, the pub has the same name as the artist who illustrated a book entitled 'Kensington Palace' by W J Loftie. So perhaps a few prints of his fine drawings on the wall?

Have eaten here a couple of times on Thursday nights in winter 2008 because it's a friend's "local." Basic cheap food and drinks. Hard to find a burger, chips and an ale for five pounds in London. Definitely lacking in pub atmosphere if you go for dark wood, mirrors and close quarters. More the feel of a restaurant that happens to serve ales than a pub that happens to serve food. Large screen tvs draw crowds for sporting events.

Its cheap and cheerful but I too have had the food order cocked up on several occasions, and always have to wait ages if i order dessert. But for the price i can't really grumble and this was a local when i lived in london that i still visit occasionally.

Well, what can I say... Like most Weatherspoons it is cheap with good selection of drinks. Staff were generally polite and 1 chef in particular cooks up a mean steak. However there is a catch and that's the Manager.. Definately an obnoxious, nailbiting egotistical loudmouth. Too young and definately in want of a lesson taught, on what locals need oe even like. Too much footie and that's probably more to do with the management "supporting" choice.

Not going back on principle and an extreme dislike of this character. 1st timers form yr own opinion....

Went in the other day and they got my order wrong twice. I only asked for a burger with cheese.

If you're in a rush avoid this pub like the plague.

Been here a couple of times. Not bad- the ale selection is good and they've got a couple of 7.3% ciders on at the moment.

Food's ok but takes a bit of a while. Today I got my food at 13:57 and I had to be back at work at 14:00.

They've got a good beer garden/area and sky so not all bad.

Don't come here if you're in a rush.

the beer here is cheap and there is a good selection + guest ales. Unfortunately this pub has been neglected over time. It smells and the staff don't really care much. Infact 2 walked out only last month. the atmosphere is appalling here. really you're better off next door at the goose which also sells cheap, good, ale (tetleys)

It's a better bet in the summer months. There is a decently sized terrace out the back which is a quiet retreat from the noise of Streatham High Road.

The clientele is a bit more mixed these days.

Boaring!!!! This is what an Airport waiting lounge is like. Clean, cheap beer but that is it. You need to be dead or close to it to find this pub, sorry Bar, interesting. The staff have as much character as John 'interesting'Major or Steve Davis. NOT!!!! a PUB.

This is the type of pub where the customers nurse a pint of 89p Bitter and discuss the location of their new space ship or how they are related to Lord Haw Haw or Churchill. Food very cheap and they will reheat it in the microwave without too much fuss as it is cold. Never take a tip on the afternoons gee-gee's from a punter in here. It would be an error.

Fairly standard Wetherspoons effort in a not-particularly nice location on Streatham High Road. The beer is good and cheap, but this has the effect of attracting lots of pensioners who drink their heating allowance and get embarrassingly paralytic.
