This has been demolished

Have to agree with the last comment. It wasn't always full of scallies-that came alter as it lost its family appeal. I fear however that it is finished as a pub.

Its a shame about this pub years ago just after it was known as the queens i worked behind the bar and it was fun and exciting we used to have themed evenings and the bar staff would dress up and do funny dances behind the bar THEN it WAS a pub gradually as a new generation entered the pub scene it got more violent then it closed and reopened newly furnished more modern then closed again it reopened again more like a club and that was the cherry on the cake putting retirement flats there would just make sale more unsightly with its new flats and offices loosing its character it should be kept as a pub but a family pub serving food etc and shake off the bad reputaion SAVE THE MET!!

Has been shut for some time and is the subject of a planning application for retirement flats which is currently being batted back and forthe between the developers and Trafford MBC

Just bulldoze this place or turn it into a restaurant or something.
It's been the meeting place for all the local scallies and neerdowells since it's time as the Queen's and before I was old enought to drink.
Sale has plenty of other pubs so time to say goodbye and use the site for something more useful, even if it's just a bigger car park for the metrolink

A bit on the dear side, (2.45 for a pint of Kronenberg)but the staff are very friendly and the atmosphere was really good when I went there. There a TVs and background music, and you could fall alseep on the leather sofas. However, the place is meant to be full of scallywags.

sorry but this goes in the same rank as jp joule and babolous - scallie central! i was there once (aged 17) and some one was stabbed! nice!

Too many thugs looking for trouble avoid at all costs!

Good place to watch football, but other than that, it's a rough place.

Watch your back...

well im not a scally or a 'scab!'
and i like going in there. the bar staff are all nice, the only thing i agree with is that you can get a few arse holes in there but dosnt every pub get that!!?? unless ur sat down and have paid 4.00 for a pint!!!

chantelle - 15 Nov 2004 12:41
I THINK THE MAT BAR HAS A GOOD ATMOSPHIRE AND THE BAR STAFF ARE ALL FRIENDLY, ITS NICE TO GO OUT FOR A DRINK AND BE ABLE TO HAVE A CHAT AT THE BAR WHIST WAITING.

ALSO I THINK THE PRICES ARE VERY RESONABLY.
THERE A 3 POOL TABLES AND I ENJOY GOING THERE AND WILL CONTINUE TO GO .

This pub is just horrible, I keep giving another chance but never again!!! I went in for lunch a couple of weeks ago as its under new management, the seats were filthy and ripped, one bar staff so had to stand for 10 mins before I could order food. Then had to 40 mins for it to arrive so in an hours lunch break I had about 3 mins to eat it, this always happens in there!!! The food was terrible, hardly anything actually in the filling in my sandwich, almost cold and then I had to pay for mayo, as it was the only way I could eat it it. So thats it, never again! Oh and alway full of under age scallies at weekend throwing up outside, nice.

It had a bad reputation in sale and a nickname
The SSC (Sale S....... Centre)

Men get 'frisked/searched on there way in!

I went in when i was under age and i went back (very drunk) on friday and it was no different.

The interior is fairly nice and it has 3 pool tables and a quiz machine etc.

Large screen for sports.

Dance floor and dj at weekends.

Occasional kareoke.

The bar staff are friendly.

(Lee is my mates brother)

Has a carpark and an outside area.

I dont reccommend it but its up to you.

So you saw the Busted guy too.Has been unfortunate in the reputation it has gathered as its proximity to Sale station and the shops make it ideal for a quick pint.Bitter drinkers not really catered for and if you want to watch United in there, stear clear, full of ABUs

This used to a top pub called The Queens. Then they did it up and it lost all its character, ie the strong smell of blow in the vault. I used to work in there and dirty bastards from Sale Moor would regularly just have a piss against the bar instead of tottering into the bogs. Now it's a clean sterile poncey place, that served no bitter at all the last time I misguidedly went in. Not enough bar staff and ok for watching footy if you like to watch it in the company of some blonde haired prick who failed the audition for Busted.
