Went in here today for the first time had to repeat my order! It seemed a real problem that i wanted a drink god forbid that! I was told recently how improved this bar is,I really dread to think how bad it was before!! Think ill stick to clapham from now on.

When I went past the other day there were signs up for an Anne Summers party - strange and slightly scary

Went in the other day for a quick pint to see if it has changed with new name and decor etc - it hasnt, still as scary as the last time I went in there two years ago! Not much to recommend it really - if you are in Stockwell go to the Z Bud bar, the Royal Albert, the Circle Bar, the Surprise or even the Swan or else get on the tube and go somewhere else

This pub has now changed names and it is now called "Savannah"

Nice toilets!

Actually, the place has almost historical value. Reminds me of Mussolini's wartime Fertiglia by Alghero or some Kraft durch Freude place in Bavaria. Whatever, drink a lot here and it will start to look nice

I cant believe it this place is been done up. It has a large new sign on it called Savannah. Sounds like Gay Bar to me. Anything rather than a yuppie pub please. Did you know there are two pubs round the back the Beehive and Lesser Pub called the Brewery Tap!

Shut when I went past the other day (June 2004) - looked like it was being redeveloped - lets hope it doesnt go down the All Bar One route. SW London has enough of those type of pubs already and I dont think it would fit with gritty inner city Stockwell

Used to be a great laugh in there a few years ago. Used to be able to walk in there and know everyone,But all the old crowd have gone plus the fella who used to run it. Havent been in there since.

Strange place, no heating when I went in. Full of old timers. Go here and the Beehive Pub round the back, a estate locals pub for a good time, honest.

This place must be the one that inspired Ade Edmondson and Rik Mayall when they came up with Richie and Eddies 'Local' The Lamb And Flag in their series 'Bottom.'

'The Truth' got it dead right about comedy value. Just make sure you don't start laughing until your well away from the place. In fact this pub makes Richie and Eddies Lamb and Flag look like Claridges.

worth visiting for comedy value

Its pub of the day again (28 September) so take Phil's advice from last year and avoid, its a scary place.

It's a quite friendly place indeed.

I know it's pub of the day today (30th August), but that doesn't mean it's good! Save yourself! Don't go!

I lived just up the road from this pub for 2 months and found it to be a very friendly place. I am from Australia.
