I went there last night with a friend, really nice pub & very very busy. I had the lamb shank in a mint & rosemary gravy with chips & vegetable crisps. Was gorgeous. The chips were freshly cooked, not left standing going soggy, the lamb fell apart & the gravy was very rich. Beautiful. Will be going back definately. Got good service & wasn't waiting long for our food.

used to eat here on a regular basis its really gone down the pan , mostly do to a very unfriendly landlady/manageress called cath , food wise it now prepared via a new polish work force , no very nice at all . shame really .

food is awful.. no atmosphere whatsoever but is always busy????? There must be a lot of people with very bad taste. the place smells like a cross between a brewery and an old people's home

Since the (long-standing) Sunday night quiz host packed it in, recently, the new guy is hopeless. the pub have tried to increase interest by offering "free" food to quiz-entrants but it's not the same. I shan't go again. Oh, and the toilets are still filthy.

Just why does the Wheelhouse (and neighbouring pub The Willoughby) attract so many Chavs in an evening ? Shame, 'cos it spoils what could be a nice pub

the change of landlord has done nothing - even more 15 year olds hanging around, and the toilets are still disgusting, the beer is expensive.

Sunday night quiz is good though

Very good Hardy and hansons food menu. Nice, large friendly pub, with good drinks selection and nice women serving the food!

Sunday night quiz is good fun, although always won by the people with the best text-message network :-) Staff friendly but toilets are disgusting and staff not interested when this is pointed out. Beer expensive but the "house wine" is good quality and value

Good drink and there is a good food menu. I went there on a Sunday afternoon and it had all the atmosphere of an airport lounge.

Very good food and drink. Well worth a visit - handy for Wollaton Park.

This is a nice Hardy & Hanson pub on the main road. Although it's big on food (a little pricey but quite nice) it's also a drinker's pub, with 3 H&H cask ales usually on. A relaxing place, without any 'events' (eg karaoke, quizzes) during the week to spoil the atmosphere.
