user reviews of the Kings Arms, Harefield

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Full of football hooligans and a landlord who has no control over them.

Not my scene and, based on a visit 17/9, would never return.

What is with grown men and football? FFS I grew out of it @ 14. Sad, so terribly sad...

The KA is probably the best pub in the village, depending on your tastes!
It certainly serves the best beer, & used to make The Good Beer Guide regularly until the local CAMRA branch transfered its affections to The Harefield.
This is understandable & OK, as The Harefield needed that kind of boost in its early days' struggle to attract customers.
However, their beer is not quite as well-kept as The KA, although entirely acceptable.
The vibe at both pubs is brilliant: friendly, efficient, happy staff & (mostly) ditto customers!
I speak from 15 years' attendance at these places, by the way! :-)

The Kings Arms was much busier on our Monday evening visit than the Harefield, down the road. But I actually preferred the Harefield. It's another locals pub that was serving 4 real ales - Greene King IPA, Fullers London Pride, Adnams Broadside & Gadds No. 5. Nice central location in Harefield.

Visited evening 09/06/11. Very decent pint of Adnams Broadside followed by excellent Best Welsh from Great Orme Brewery. Good atmosphere, decent pints. Has definitely gone up in my opinion.

Apologies for the harsh review below, in fact not a review at all. In the cold light of day it looks like a criticism of the pub, not the beer, which was not what I intended. Must have been the headache when I reached home. Seriously though, I felt the Broadside was below par. The pub itself is very comfortable, as for the review of "Whoever I Wanna Be", you'll always feel like that in a pub you're not a regular in, and the barmaid who served me did smile, to her credit. I shall visit again to, hopefully, sample something a little better. And not write with a headache, next time........

Visited lunchtime, 14/02/10, just had the worst kept pint of Adnams Broadside I've tasted in my entire life - rushed out and went to the Harefield!

You're having a laugh aren't you.......
The bar staff are so miserable here it would kill them to break into a smile. And as for the landlord, I've never felt so unwelcome anywhere in my life. When you walk through the door, it's like the bells ring and tumbleweed rolling through the place - everything stops and stare at you and if you're not part of the 'clique', evyou get ignored.
this has to be one of the most unfriendliest pubs I've ever been to in my life!!!

For reasons that I do not know, we have never previously felt a desire to visit the Kings Arms during our occasional visits to Harefield. One evening last month, we finally decided to give it a try and were rather impressed!

The pub is quite large, with plenty of seating throughout and a dining area where Thai food is served. At the other end is a public bar area with TV, games etc, which I guess is where the locals mostly gather. We didn't try the food on this occasion, but will definitely do so in the future.

There was a decent selection of four cask ales, including a guest beer that changes regularly. We tried two or three and found them all to be well kept. The pub was generally clean and tidy and the bar staff friendly and welcoming, which is something we always appreciate.

Fantastic pub with a great atmosphere, by far the best one locally. Thai food in evening cooked by real Thai people and is best I have ever had. Service a bit slow in the public bar but when all is said and done a great night out.

You SURE you were in the Kings Arms, and not the Swan?

Real ale, real racists! Totally filled with scum!
Shame as it's a nice building.

OK looking pub in the centre of harefield, food excellent if you like foreign cuisine and the bar staff are quite friendly with the ber being not to expensive, but often tastes like goats wee and the guiness, despite having an irishland lord is the worst in the village. the pool table is also awful and the regulars are a bunch of tits.

Very nice pub, friendly service in the centre of Harefied by the common. An old coaching inn in days gone by.Worth a visit for the food, which includes a Thai menu.
