Good, helpful service and a great range of cask and keg offerings - Hanlon's had a tap takeover while there was a good mix of representation for local breweries as well as more far flung craft operators. We went in the day when it was relatively unbusy - while the location at the end of the cathedral green is also very good.

When the Beer Cellar first opened we used to visit it regularly but haven't been there for ages now. The last time we went it was bitterly cold inside - I started shivering after a while (drinking cold beer didn't help either - cold inside & out) & so we went along the road to George's to warm up. Prior to that they'd just made some new seats - very uncomfortable. We've intended to go in more recently but it's generally very busy and I don't drink beer standing up. Shame as they have some interesting beers & the staff & most of the customers are very friendly.

Micropub with not much in the way of character. Good service and a good range of ales. Let down badly by the high prices with the cheapest pint at a ridiculous £4.20

Most varied beer selection in the city. Ok, not much character but worth a look if you want something other than Otter, St Austell, Sharps, etc

An uncharacterful micropub but with some excellent beer choice. Although it was advertised as doing food they didn't so we bought a couple of pasties and ate them in the pub (with permission).

Plenty of these bars in London, so to try one outside just seemed the same typical hipster customers and prices to match. cant remember what i had but it was only 3.8% and cost me £5.70 for a pint. It was nice BUT if you pay these prices you just perpetuate the problem of silly prices. So i will not be doing this again.
Marked down for excessive prices.

Very small quirky corner bar right in the middle of Exeter.

The range of beers is impressive with many I have never heard of and the most varied variety in Exeter.

The trouble is I am a commoner and can't stand all this hipster nonsense that these kind of places attract.

Couldn't spend all night in here as too crammed and busy.

On a positive note the guy behind the bar was very friendly and knowledgeable about his products.

7/10
