Friendly atmosphere, good food and decent selection of real ales. Function room with live entertainment most weekends.

I picked this pub virtually at random from the GBG. It looks a bit of a 1970's throwback but it was comfortable, friendly and the beer was spot on. I didn't eat there but the food looked good too. I would certainly make a detour to visit again.

I can confirm that the landlord and landlady (Jim & Jean) have sold The Last Inn, having been there since 1981. Hopefully, they'll have many happy years of much deserved retirement; they are after all, in their late 70s.

It is not all bad news (hopefully).

The Last Inn has been sold to a landlord who is a Real Ale and live music enthusiast, so hopefully, The Last Inn won't change too much !

(I've heard a rumour its been sold off - can anyone confirm this - damn shame if it is).

If you like a great steak and chips, a REALLY good pint, an open fire and an equally warm welcome...the last is top-notch.

I have spent many a night working my way down the bar sampling the half a dozen or so real-ales on offer - they change often so you have to sample them all right. I haven't quite made it along the bar and back again but not for the want of trying.

Great place, down to earth and what country pubs are all about - go soon just in case the closure rumour is true!!!!

The best pub for beer in the area - by a country mile !!!

Jim offers samples of his beers and has been doing so for the past 25 years ! The beer (usually 6 for sale at any time) is looked after very well - Jim thoroughly cleans the lines after every firkin (9 gallons).

The only downside is that Jim is now in his mid 70s and is bound to retire eventually. Here's hoping that it doesn't get changed too much !!!
