A traditional pub with friendly staff and a good selection of well kept cask ales. Only a short walk across from the station, well worth a visit.

Myself & my partner attended the pub approx 6weeks ago on a friday evening, it was karaoke and we have been going every friday since. The dj is fantastic!!! Its always a warm welcome and there is always 5or 6 different ales on. This friday we had a thoroughly great night with the landlady who made us feel so welcome and we cannot recommend enough. The landlady, staff and customers alike make for a great night. Thank you ring o bells, see you friday!! :-)

This place has been reopened for about 2 years and is certainly an improvement! I call in any time I am in the city centre for a beer or few! There is always a people in whether I'm go midweek or over the weekend. There's always been 6 different ales on tap each time I've been, ranging from dark to golden to cater for people of all tastes, or if you are like me, a challenge! The place is owed and run by a fella who looks to be in his mid 20s but who has knowledge of beer and pub welfare well above his years, and his pub reflects that fact! You can quite clearly see he takes pride in the place, his beer and his staff, all of whom are very friendly and welcoming! Great place to go for a pint, an hour or for the evening!

Belting cosy pub with six ales on, kept in tip top condition too. will be back, regularly. Great customer interaction, warm welcome and pleasant conversation. Best real ale pub in Halifax - no To$$3r$ , just good real folk in a good real pub. :-)

On a Saturday afternoon in September it was pretty quiet, at one stage I was the only customer. I don't tend to mind that, especially as the staff were friendly. At around four o'clock I asked if I was too late for food, luckily the chef was still in the building and I was served a fantastic and inexpensive Steak and Ale Pie with Chips. I could have had mushy peas with it but they're not for me. The food really filled me up and the ale was good too. Not far from the station, worth a visit.

Well what can I say?
Called one afternoon last year and left immediately because it was like a social club - loud music, kids everywhere etc.
Last Saturday 10pm - us two in, four other punters, barmaid, someone (landlord?) on some sort of Ipod disco and that was it. About 5 beers on, one of the two we had was off so I changed it for another half of the other one, no quibbles, and that was fine. So cant really comment on overall beer quality. We were welcomed and cheered on our way so its friendly enough.
BUT. Whether the pubs been refurbed on the cheap or what its hard to say, plus it had zero character because it was empty, but either way we couldnt find any redeeming features. Why so empty on Saturday night? OK its off the circuit but its still a town centre pub. They just dont seem to be making any effort to attract the mainstream.
Sorry but there are plenty of other good pubs with good beer in Halifax; we wont go back to the Ring o Bells.
