user reviews of The Marlipins Pub, Shoreham by Sea

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

I can see mine is the first comment for a little while, current rating for the pub 9.2 / 10.

Sorry, no where near that, a cloudy and vinergary Butcombe Best which admittedly was changed without a query, but the barman having said he'd check it out, didn't and left the clip facing outwards. The replacement Harvey's Sussex Best was drinkable but way short of being the lovely beer it should be!

When visiting on a Saturday, you'd expect the beer to be in better condition having surely had much pulled through the pipes on a Friday night.

I've been visiting this pub for a good 7 months now, and every time I'm there, there's always a good atmosphere. Great pub for banter and community - or a decently-priced meal in the morning, lunchtime or in the evening. Never had a complaint with any of the food or service; staff have always been welcoming, polite and friendly.

Although not the largest pub in Shoreham, it does boast a conservatory/restaurant and a garden which looks great in the sunshine with all its flowers.

Good selection of real ales (Harveys, London Pride, Youngs and HSB) and an excellent selection of lagers (the recent addition of Coors Light is definitely a favourite!).

Definitely not a pub to miss when in Shoreham.

What a great find. A lovely pub, great people and food, good choice of ales, and the courtyard garden was heavenly. Definity coming back

Visited this pub for the first time over the weekend and I have to say what a lovely little pub it is! Very surprised to find a restaurant/conservatory area and then a little courtyard garden beyond that, the bar area itself had a very nice atmosphere and a good choice of drinks, 4 real ales & 5 lagers on draught, I also had a meal which was very tasty (Home-made Steak & Kidney pie, highly recommended) staff were very friendly, as were what I assume locals as there was plenty of banter!! All in all a very nice experience...will definitely be back, job well done!

I made my comment back in July and haven't got anything new to add, but it only seems right to point out that a 2nd record has since been raised for this pub - albeit under the correct title this time. I don't know what should happen when this situation occurs; probably some sort of amalgamation of the two records although Lord knows how one goes about that, and whether anyone can be bothered.

In any case, anyone adopting this as the record of choice for reviews of this establishment from now on should bear in mind the previous comments on its sister record, listed under the incorrect "Marliplins".
