Looks like it might be too much of a restaurant but in fact does pretty well with four admittedly unexciting ales on tap. The big winner though is a £5 lunch deal from Monday to Friday which is of decent quality and unsurprisingly popular - I had belly pork with potato wedges and coleslaw. The location abutting Kew Green is also lovely while service was impeccable.

Not a pub any more - moreso a restaurant with a coffee bar attached. Wouldn't advise going in just for a drink unless you want to get asked if you are eating every 5 minutes by a member of staff. Eye-wateringly expensive too.

Another Kew pub bites the dust...

Was here for lunch a couple of Saturdays ago and had a lovely time.

Table service, friendly staff, great food and well kept beer.

Went here with a group of like minded old codgers and had the best pint of Young's Bitter I've had for a long time. They also had London Pride and Doombar.
The barmaids were lovely and even brought our drinks to the table for us.
The food looked excellent although we didn't try it.

Had supper and several pints here a week or so back. It is fun, it is simple, it is light and airy. The garden at the back is a haven. Loved it. Will return to enjoy more friendly faces are around.

I had lunch at the Greyhound yesterday and thought it was great! I love the fact theyre dog friendly and it has a really nice relaxed vibe that tends to go with pubs that allow mutts in. I had the beefburger and chips and my husband had the slow roasted pork and both meals were really delicious. The beer garden at the back is really nicely done and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. There wasnt a big range of bitter but thats really the only downside of this pub. Definitely recommended.

Doom Bar, Pride on tap, the usual suspects basically.

Lots of parents and toddlers, which is fine if both elements behave. Gastro type food fayre, you could stick a mast in the prawn crackers and sail off down the river, better yet stick the parents and toddlers on the crackers, unfurl the mast and give 'em a push and a wave goodbye.

My small lad behaved though, just for once.

A most excellent hostelry, with a most excellent quiz on a Wednesday eve.

Laid back neighbourhood pub with signature big breakfasts, excellent 5 weekday lunch deal, well-kept Doom Bar, Pride and Youngs bitter, pleasant first-floor dining room overlooking Kew Green and attractive patio garden. So what a shame that The Greyhound doubles up as a playroom for screaming hyperactive toddlers and insouciant yummy mummies.

Took friends to the Greyhound yesterday for Sunday Lunch after a hasty search for somewhere new to try in Chiswick / Kew area. Will not be returning. Great location and I'm sure well meaning, but the "Greedies" dining concept within The Greyhound (whats wrong with "The Greyhound"????, delivers a characterless space, bland food and very patchy service.
Our Yorks Puddings were properly burnt, which was pointed out to and promptly ignored by the waitress. One of the 2 waitresses who served us was cheerfula d helpful, but the other, perhaps hindered by less than perfect English, came across as efficient but surly and made a couple of inappropriate comments. eg Her: Would you like to order something? Me; Could we order some drinks please (we had just arrived). Her; Yes that why I said would you like to order SOMETHING!
At which point I knew what was likely to follow. Bland roasts (to be fair the Beef looked ok and cooked as ordered but turkey and pork were interchangeable), processed stuffing, overcooked veg and a waitress who would arrived mid conversation and trumpet something or other across the table -efficient but unknowingly rude. A classic case of owners who are just not up to it.

I visited for lunch yesterday as a half-way staging point on the Teddington-to-Putney stretch of the Thames Path. There were three ales on: London Pride; Doom Bar; Fullers Bitter. I tried the Pride and it was in good shape. The staff were friendly, welcoming, efficient and attentive. There's a restaurant upstairs but you can eat downstairs if you want to.

I had the Sunday roast beef, which was very impressive. I could tell that it was cooked to order because I asked for the beef to be cooked rare and that's exactly what I got. The roast potatoes were crisp and freshly-cooked, as was the Yorkshire pud, and the veg were just right; not overcooked. My GF had corned beef hash, which was a dome of sauted potatoes mixed with corned beef hash and was very tasty.

There's a garden out back, not facing Kew Green. I'd have liked the ale choice to be a bit more varied than three best bitters, but that's a minor niggle. I don't know what it's like in the evening but it's a very good lunch stop.

I've just organised a birthday party in the Greyhound's function room and it was an unbelievably good night. Couldn't have asked for more. The food (substantial nibbles platters - Asian, Mediterranean & Fish) was some of the best pub food I've had in London - for example the calamares exceptionally fresh and tender. The room itself was homely yet stylish - fireplace, sofas, chandelier, wooden floors etc - perfect. The beer was spot on. So many people commented on what a great venue/night it was. The new owners just took over three months ago and they are right combination of friendly and professional. They will do well. Even the toilets are right next door. Couldn't recommend it more.

New owners took over 3 months ago. We hired the function room for a birthday party - an unbelievably good night. The food was the best I've tasted in a London pub for some time. The room was really comfortable/attractive - looking out over Kew Green. The wine and beer excellent. Service fantastic. Never had so many positive comments about a party I've organised - we will be back.
