user reviews of New Inn, Bournheath

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

New management and higher prices. Can't compete with the Nailers or the Dodford now. Locals have deserted it for cheaper booze and better service. Some of the bar staff very inexperienced. Great shame.

The recent refurbishment looks great and the bar with the real fire is very inviting but sadly for the 2nd consecutive week the Enville Ale was off with the young barman having trouble with the pumps.
It doesn't matter how much you spend on a pub if you don't get the beer right then you will rightly loose custom and after 2 drinks we left to try The Dodford.
From chatting to regulars there it appears the New Inns may be changing hands again and the excellent cellarman who was there in the summer has also gone.

The new owners certainly seem to have improved the beer judging by our visit last Saturday after a disappointing trip to the new Dodford.
Beers were Banks's and an excellent and very welcome Enville Ale.
Comfortable and inviting pub, both inside and out,and one I'll definitely be seeing a lot more of.

Just changed hands and the new management seem to be putting up a good show.

Lovely little pub with a fantastic carvery and well kept beer..but.. if youve come this far, carry on up the hill to the Nailers Arms for a real treat!

This is an excellent pub.

The staff are friendly and the beer choice good. They welcome dogs and have a real fire ........... so that makes it A PROPER PUB.

The carvery is excellent value.

wow...just happened to come across this pub as i was just driving thru the countryside 'exploring'! they were advertising a carvery for 4...5 to include a pudding! It was definately the best carvery i have had...choice of 3 meats, beef, pork and turkey, they were cooked beautifully, really moist and tender, and a large range of vegetables which were also cooked perfectly...not over cooked and mushy, and not dried out. they also had two other choices...faggotts or cottage pie and then you helped yourself to the 'carvery vegetables'...never seen this before ata a carvery!...very good. on top of this they also did a seperate menu...i didnt look at this because id already made my mind up to have the carvery!...but my mom had a quick look and was impressed....wide choice, very reasonably priced, and i think she said it specified 'local' produce and 'free range eggs'......i plan to go there on wednesday...to watch England in the world cup!!...probably 'drown my sorrows!' haha!..and have a good look at the menu for myself.
also, the 2 girls behind the bar were very friendly and helpful, the service and attention was brilliant...
what a lovely, lovely place...
