A bit hidden away and at first glance, I was concerned. All I could see were shiny T bars with lagers, craft beer and fizzy cider. But I stuck with it, on the recommendation of the GBG.
There were 5 beers on draft - Addams Broadside, titanic plum porter, Nibley Ale, Volt, and Copper Ale (not sure of the brewers). A little cold but generally seemed well kept.
Also 23 Draft ciders, hence the award for Camra cider pub of the year, 2017.

a return visit. Beer still superb.Graet choice and seven on draught. Best kept beer in Lowestoft in my view

Quality locals pub with 6 different ales on during my all too short visit.

Friendly locals and bar staff, I only stayed for 1 pint as we had a meal booked back in town and had a cab waiting.

I expect to back in Lowestoft some time in 2014 and will definitely be spending more time here.

Made a number of visits to this pub since the start of the year.Have drank beer here from all corners of the UK and all pints, straight from the barrels, have been in superb condition and temperature. Am amazed that the pub has not won more awards. Does the local camra branch have other favourites I wonder ? Strange if it does as no pub in Lowestoft, including the Triangle where I had an off pint recently, seems to serve such a great variety of beers, let alone from the barrel.Have raised my rating to a 9 .OUTSTANDING AND FRIENDLY

Took me a while to find it but without doubt the best pub in Lowestoft.....and the friendliest. Normally six ales on straight the barrel but during December they have 25 on ! Strongly recommended. Ber in superb condition and temperature.

Of course I am going to rate this pub highly, as it is my local but seriously, you should check this pub out, lots of real ales on usually about 8-10 from all different breweries around the uk, a cider board with nearly 30 ciders!! Also, every month they put on a Jazz Afternoon and Quiz which are very popular with all ages! I think that they are going to be showing the football soon too...even better 11 out of 10 rating then!! :) Check it out!

This new venture gets top marks for real ale - lots on offer and well kept. The pub doesn't seem to have found its personality yet though - it feels like a traditional small local's pub which has been furnished with wine bar-ish decor, but has kept the big screen TV and dart board. There was also a toddler in the bar when we there in there (albeit about 5ish on a friday rather than late night) - a hazard when carrying two full pints! I'd come back for the beer but not necessarily the atmosphere. Perhaps it has a different feel in the evening.
