After a visit to the rather good Railway Tavern Ale House in Stoke Newington/Dalston, I walked on to the Hops & Glory (current name of this place). It has a vaguely bohemian feel and is clearly aimed at the more discerning drinker. Has a cosy interior. Only 2 ales were on - Downlands Conker Champion & Two Cocks 1643 Cavalier Golden Ale. But there was also a good selection of craft beers on keg. I opted for Hogans cider. Nice place, if not a little too quiet.

this pub just keeps getting better, 3 cask ales, 1 cask cider, 10 malt whiskies, 4 japenese plus a great range of craft beers - Lagunnitas, Saison Dupont, Pavel Kwak, Brooklyn lager, Bruges Zot, De Molen, Flying Dog, Rogue, Anchor and Magic Rock. For lovers of the more Exotic there is Sipsmith gin, Belvedere vodka and Old Rip van Winkle Bourbon. this place is the best on Essex rd.

First review of 2013!
Never visited this pub in its previous guise, but went here before an event down the road.
Its a small but cosy space, not mentally packed on my visit.
A nice range of American Beers on tap. Nice snacks available, had some gorgeous warmed pita bread. Friendly staff.
Just be prepared to be paying the odds, as due to importing the beer, you are paying over a £5 a pint. London prices plus extra, although a very enjoyable visit!

this has now been renamed the Hop and Glory and serves an exellant choice of 4 real ales including Dark Star , Redemption and others.
They also have the superb De Moelen on keg plus others .

Was in this bar before/after the Scotland v Brazil game earlier this year, a great time had by all. Well worth a visit when Scotland games are on tv. The staff were outstanding on what must have been an exceedingly long, hectic day. A very wide range of top quality beers and spirits on offer.

A few months back I went in there for a quick cooling pint of lager with a mate who lives nearby. Mistake. Owner had been cleaning the lines and hadn't entirely finished!!Awful pint. Will never go back!!
