Amber Ales brewery tap - thoroughly enjoyed the Barnes Wallis I tried. Pub nothing special, but a decent pint.

A great pub with lovely atmosphere and comfortable bench seating; the Amber stout is good if not quite as good a beer as I had on previous visit.

Great choice of ales on tap and I think I spied some interesting bottled ale as well. Decor a bit sparse inside for my tastes but still probably the best pub in Ripley at the moment due to the great beer.

Continues to deliver even though Amber not my personal faves but always a guest or two to keep me happy.

Amber Ales brewery tap and very good beer it is. Quiet on a Sunday evening and only a small selection of their own beers. Don't know if there are more available at other busier sessions. Good beer and friendly pub. Only grouse is that they don't do bottles as I would have brought some back to give the lads in my local a treat. Worth seeking out if you haven't yet visited.

Made our first visit here last night in support of the IPA weekender beer festival and to hear Pete Brown reading from and talking about his superb book "Hops & Glory". Very friendly staff including the couple who run the Amber Brewery, who made us so welcome and were exceptional hosts. A very attractive flat-iron building smartly done out inside in an open plan continental beer-cafe style, backed up by a magnificent range of both Amber Ales and the imported local IPAs, together with four or five good Belgian beers on tap and a varied selection of very good bottled beers, some very rare for the area. The hot cocoa simmering away on the counter was too tempting to refuse on such acold snowy day - a very good touch indeed. They offer Beer safaris, which include a vist to the brewery at the bottom of the hill plus a meal and pints in their two pubs in the town for 12.50, which is something we shall surely be back to sample soon. These are clearly people who are passionate about the art of both brewing very good beer and running a very decent and welcoming pub. Superb.

New kid on the block and making a good start and deserving of more custom. Decent selection of beers and reasonable price basic bar snacks makes this a nice pub on any crawl.

This is the new brewery tap of Amber Ales which has recently opened. I was happy to hear that Ripley had gained a pub worthy of visiting the town for, so I jumped on the next bus and took a trip. We were certainly not disappointed! A great selection of Amber Ales - I recommend the deliciously moreish chocolate orange stout! There are also barrels of real cider sitting on the bar too for you apple fans out there. The barman was incredibly friendly too. CAMRA members are given a discount so remember to take your cards.
