I was also a bit disappointed with this pub, pretty unoriginal choice of beer and tried to short change me, change given for a fiver whereas a tenner was given, only corrected with a marked reluctance.

Have to admit I was a bit disappointed by this pub - at the time I visited there was Doom, Landlord and Greene King IPA on tap. All of which are ok but I thought there may have been a local brew that may have been available. Bit over Doom as had a few rough ones in the past (possibly a case of quantity over quality) and just not a fan of the other two but I digress.

Sunday roast was pretty ordinary and even allowing for the place being fairly flat out, food took ages (almost forty minutes) to arrive. The table next to me were less than impressed by their meal while the table next to them had their order stuffed up.

Will give it the benefit of the doubt being Easter Sunday and the previous reviews but still......

One of the best pubs (if not the best) I have ever visited. Visited many times and always superb service and the food is always fantastic. A definate 10/10!

Very nice pub with a good selection of beers. Hambledon Bitter certainly the beery highlight of a recent holiday. The food was very nice (delicious pork chop) and, if in the area again, would happily revist.

First time to this pub after 7 years of island visits - not sure how we've not partaken of its delights before! Very friendly landlord, good beer and excellent food. Will be adding this to my 'must visit' list from now on.

Nice pub in a pleasant location next to Arreton Barn Craft Village and a stones throw from the ancient village church. The interior was warm and inviting. However, having the heating on despite the nice spring weather made it a little too hot. The regulars, mostly of the senior kind, were a keen lot. We arrived just 20 minutes after opening and the car park was already full with all but one table taken. The kitchen were being kept busy with the microwave pinging every few seconds. But the pub is well decorated, with plenty of knick knacks to hold your attention and the beer range is fairly good - Draught Bass, TT Landlord and Nipper Bitter from the new local brewery Island. Cider was from Stowford Press. Worth a quick detour if you're passing by.

Nice old pub - comfortable, and a pleasant landlord. A choice of Thwaites, Lanndlord and Bass on our visit.

Brilliant pub, great food and drink at sensible prices. The current landlord Chris didn't sell it up, and is selling off the Sun Inn at Hulverstone instead! Can't recommend high enough if you want a meal with your drink.

Never disappointed - all 4 pubs in Arreton do good food, but this is our favourite. Good choice of beers and food is excellent, with ever changing specials. Read it's now up for sale as the current landlord wants to concentrate on his other pub in Hulverstone. The best thing the future new landlord can do is to not change a thing!

Went there tonight (18/01/2007) for the first time with 2 other friends. Thuroughly anjoyed it, the meal was lovely, the staff were friendly, and had a really nice atmosphere. Didn't come out smelling like an ashtray either which was a bonus! Would definitely recomend it to anyone to try it out!

This is a regular visit for myself and friends.
The specials board is always good. Food excellent and modest in price.
Regular curry evenings are a favourite.

Last visited this pub in 1976 and it was a great place then. I now live in Detroit, USA. A bit different from Arreton!

Great little pub, with a good selection of well kept real ales. Excellent food cooked by Chris, the land lord, at affordable prices. always busy with the locals, and those who are willing to drive across the Island for a decent nosh.
This would be my November pub on my Island pubs calender.
