Nice owners, nice clientele (entirely day trippers like me from what I could gather), decent Thwaites beer. Has the feel of a hotel bar rather than a pub though.

Clearly been refurbished since previous posts, now a decent Thwaites pub with 4 cask ales.

I have to agree with the comments below; the hygiene in this establishment leaves something to be desired. A cleaner ideally.

what a fab pub to stay or just visit. stayed in april 2011 had a stunning room, food was tops, even the BIG breakie was a 10/10. staff were very helpful, nothing was to much trouble. Location is great. would recomend i�m going to stay again soon *****

Place looks good from the outside. The beer is OK too. Bar staff were dreadful - just a couple of disinterested girls who reminded me of my doctors receptionist (she regards all customers as a necessary evil)

Good basic spacious pub. Reasonably friendly welcome. Food fine , not that adventurous, just basic pub fodder. Worth popping in if you're passing but prob not worth going out of your way to.
