The good news is that someone is going to have another try at making something of this place.
The bad news is that it is the same outfit that are making a fist of running the Winchester Arms in town.
They may be gluttons for punishment but not many punters will be.

I was initially fooled by a similar sign on the old melodies bar/photo place Cellarbuoy. Unfortunately it's just another local council idea to make shop fronts look attractive to potential investers rather than an actual buyer doing it.

Signs in the windows suggest this place is t re-open as a hairdresser / cafe / coffee shop / wine merchant"
Nothing like hedging your bets says I
Still, there might be a chance of being able t get a pint, so I guess it needs to remain on BITE, for the time being at least.

Popped in for a coffee with Mrs Hilton during a recent shopping trip thinking it was a cafe and was surprised to see a handpump on the bar selling one of the Cotleigh brews Decided to stick with the coffee as the pump obviously hadn't been used for while so was not confident that the beer would meet my usual high standard.

Service left a lot to be desired too, the manager/barman/waiter believed that filling up the salt and pepper pots, or whatever he was doing, was a higher priority than taking some money off a customer.

Positives: ok coffee
Negatives: Poor standard beer, poor service

I have to disagree with the previous 2 postings I'm afraid.
Basically it's a music venue for "unsigned bands". Well, there's usually a good reason for them being unsigned, namely, they're no bloody good.
It's not a bad little cafe bar during the day, although the coffee is quite awful, and the service slapdash. At night it's just full of teenaged brats and drunken old tossers.
They have one ale on sale, but it's often tired and stale.
Altogether disappointing.

Well run establishment that ticks most of the boxes needed for a decent evening out, comfortable surroundings, clean, good music, food if desired, not surrounded by knuckle draggers. Please other bar owners in centre take note and learn how to run a pub successfully.
