Saturday night visit for a few pints with the wife and a mate.

I spent a good few hours on my only other visit in July last year and said how much I liked the pub, well my opinion is now enhanced, I love it.

The ale choice and they way they are kept is superb, service is great with knowledgeable bar staff, the decor is good and lastly the clientele are very friendly....really is a great place.

The 8 hand pumps each with a different ale, I worked my way through pints of Brass Castles' Snow Eater @ 4.8% and Hazelnut Mild @ 4.2% and Goose Eyes Goose Eye Bitter @ 3.9%.

Stayed for several hours and got through a few fairs pints.

Absolute cracking pub and firmly on my my visit list everytime I visit Ilkley from now on.

The place itself is split between the dining area and the bar. The beer is well kept and it's a decent enough bar to drink in, serves quite a few ales with a couple regular (including Saltaire Blonde and their own brewered ale). The only problem is the bar can get quite tight when it's busy, with much shuffling done if you're standing up in order to let others move around. A bit on the pricey side but it's Ilkley so mostly to be expected. A decent enough place to have a few but I'm not sure you'd hang around too long.

Onto Ilkley for an overnight stay at the Crescent Inn, a good choice as it also appears in the 2016 GBG.

2 visits one mid afternoon & the other after 8.30pm, the attractive bar downstairs from the onsite French restaurant is complete with an original fireplace, gas lamp lights, oak flooring and copper topped tables.

The bar is the focal point of this pub with 8 ales on the hand pumps, 5 of these are guests with only one of them not being from Yorkshire. I had very good pints of Dave from Great Heck Brewing @ 3.8% and Bad Seeds' New England IPA @ 6.0%

Pleasant bar staff who were chatting to all the punters and kind of couldn't do enough. Music playing quite loudly but it wasn't intrusive.

Busy on both visits.

A very good pub in a historic building, the start of a good days drinking in Ilkley.

Still a reasonable pub and better choice of brews on than the (as of yet) unlisted Flying Duck.

Fairly large pub style hotel bar which had a good selection of local brews (from Ilkley) on - all tried were in good nic. Preferred this to the other GBG pub in town.

the new crescent is a lot better now. up to 8 real ales.including local ilkley and copper dragon brewery.the food menu is very imaganative and reasonably priced , the staff have allways been cheerfull even coming to your table and asking if you would like more drinks. there are 2 large screens showing all major sporting events, and there is also seating outside. all in all i think this is now the best venue in ilkley , a town now blessed with numurous pubs selling good quality real ales from local brewers

It's claim to fame is being where Jimi Hendrix stayed when playing in Ilkley many moons ago. The house beer, from Moorhouses is duly called 'Jimi's' and is OK. These days, Hendrix does not get much of a play in the music front, which is played LOUD. Not sure I'd like that as a resident in the accommodation above / to the side.
