We like the mill, especially in the summer when we sit outside overlooking the lily pond, the sound of the water is a very soothing backdrop for a relaxing meal. I like my fish and have enjoyed it here, nicely presented meals, not too large though, my husband says the beer is usually very good, very important to him. Nice summer spot.

i dont think the mill can be faulted, liz is a terrific landlady/owner i have frequented the many premises she has had over the years and she always puts her customers first in everyway, love the food love the non pretentious atmosphere!!

very true mozzzzzzzzzz, but one of those rare attached bars which does have a life of its own. Really friendly people. Enjoyed a fine ale.

I have been in and out of this place for years - now is the time it is getting good. The staff have changed, i have fallen in love with Andrea in the bar and the food and beer meets up tot eh expected high standard.

due to current illness i am in full agreement with the sensible no smoking rule in the restaurant.the bad news is i have to give up drinking beer and the like, so order less ringwood. more messages from the poorly will follow. any strangers reading this i recommend you try the hotel as the management has started smiling:-) mind you it could be wind!

When ever i am visiting familly in Hordle I always insist on drinking in the Mill as I have always found the locals friendly and the bar staff are also extremelly polite and pleasant. I agrree with g about his comments of Judy somes her up perfectly, and I have always found the owner Liz to be polite and wonderfully helpfull.

I am sorry to say that I do agree with Gemma. I have been twice and have found the owner/manageress to be extremely rude which is a shame as it is such a beautiful setting. I am local and it's unfortunate that I feel I do not want to return.

gemma must have been unlucky. i find the staff both helpfull and pleasant. but importantly, the beer is superb, well looked after and resonably priced, the bar is friendly and the barmaid judy is mad, in a nice way. added to this is the great restaurant and wonderful setting makes it a must to visit. no i dont work there.
