Pub is to reopen following renovations - after fire caused by an electrical fault.

Badly damaged by fire; cause uncertain; nobody hurt.

Greene King to decide what next - closed for now.

Sadly, the fire brigade is currently in attendance...

Standard Hungry Horse, big plates, big portions, families in restaurant, some dubious characters in public bar. Close to Thorpe Park so busy around park closing time. Food reasonable, staff friendly, large car park, close to M25 if your looking for a food stop on a long journey. No real ales served so good for a food stop with the family but not of your looking for an evening supping unusual (or any!) real brews.

Whilst the kids were growing up, we regularly visited the Hungry Horse for food until we were served food on plates that had not been cleaned one day ! (Sounds odd, but true).
After new management took over we tried again, and things were much better, until recently.
Staff have now decided to take the P*SS out of customers in a busy bar for not recalling their table number, food with a baked in insect (More than once) like it belongs there, and reluctant staff to put things right.
Complaint to the head office results in a 25 refund off of a spoilt 70 meal, so we wont be going back to try again...
Shame, as location is good and spacious, it just needs a new team !!!!

Visited recently for the first time. Its a massive Hungry Horse pub with a big garden and plenty to keep the kids amused. It needs it especially early evening after Thorpe Park has turned out as the wait for food can be long sometimes. The waiting time board goes up to 90 minutes! Staff friendly though but it no longer sells any draft real ales. It has bottled Abbott but they keep it in the fridge!! Take a bottle warmer with you. For a family meel though its excellent value
