Standard blokes pub with pool table, darts etc... Something made me go for the lager inhere as although they had an ale on no one was drinking it and I had a sneaky feeling it wouldn't be up to much.

In the good old days this used to be a "special" pub well used by the railway workers. I called in at the weekend and had a lovely pint of Golden Pippin sadly spoiled by the knoxhead Pompey fans who were waiting for a train back to London.... without them the pub would have been a lot quieter... This pub is really handy for the station and if they go they're act together they could get this place on a ale trail or something.... its literally 3 mins walk away.... I like this pub... always have done... however, the lease is up for sale once again... there are also 2 more decent real ale pubs around the corner !!

A good pint again on this my latest visit with the new young barmaid eventually getting the hang of the handpulls! Saturday evening - not many in which seems a shame is it is not a bad pub and again very handy for the station.

Very quiet on my visit, with only a few friendly locals being present. This has one large room, which seemed to lack a bit of character for me. The landlord was fine however, and the two beers were well kept.
This place just needs something to entice people in as I wouldn't particularly rush back in as it stands at the moment.

Had a good session in here before and after going to watch the Seadogs at Armthorpe. The beer was top notch Flying Scotsman by the Calodonian Brewery, friendly staff and customers.....

Nice pub, was almost empty when I went in on a Sat evening. Barman was pleasant and the 2 pints of Golden Pippen I had were very good.

I won't run the place down as my experience was very good even though there was hardly anyone in!

Hi All again!
The Manager of the railway is passed onto Jason Dent. The contact mobile number is no longer in use due to a burglary. You can still contact The Corner Pin for any information regarding the Railway. The beers on at the moment are John Smiths Cask, Copper Dragon and Batemans xb. As this pub is not registered on SIBA yet , real ales are limited to what we can order through enterprise. Hopefully this will change in the coming months. If you like a different selection of beers then after a visit to the railway, why not pop over to the Corner Pin and sample a few there.
look forward to seeing new faces and real ale drinkers. Thank you Dave and Ruth

Had a very quick half before getting the train home. Copper Dragon Golden Pippin was good but I shall have go back again to get a better feel for the place. As already mentioned it is now run by the licensee of The Corner Pin so things should be looking up.

Hi Everyone
Just a quick note to say the Railway has been taken over by Dave and Ruth Wicks of The Corner Pin, Doncaster.
Chris Hart is manager of this establishment along with new members of staff.
Currently serving John Smiths Cask, 2 changing real ales, John Smiths smooth, Guinness, Strongbow, Stella and Stella 4, Fosters and Carling. Plus a variety of bottled beers. There is a function room upstairs, a cosy snug and a bar area, pool table and darts board.
There is no food at the moment as there is no commercial kitchen on this property, All function foods are prepared at The Corner Pin and transported over to the Railway. At the moment they are picking the place up so to improve the business. All enquiries can be made on The Corner Pins number 01302 340670 or through the manager of The Railway on 07503105436.
Thankyou.

Very handy for station. But very limited real ales, and never any guests. No food either. Sitting on a gold mine of a location!! Worth a visit if 30 minutes to kill for a train.

A rather basic, dated and rather dull pub near the main station. Naturally it has a Railway theme with a few photos of steam locomotives and Doncaster station of yesteryear but the efforts do seem a little underwhelming. The main bar contains 2 large arcs of built in seating with a sports based TV in the corner whilst at the rear is a pool and darts area. The 3 ales on offer were disappointing and unadventurous John Smiths, John Smiths Magnet and Tetley. That said I have never had Magnet before although I wish I could still say the same. Ironically the makeshift pump clip consisted of an old beer mat sellotaped onto a Deuchers clip which would have been a far more worthwhile pint. Not too much of interest in the general scheme of things but it was friendly enough and they have probably the smallest barman this side of the Hobbit House in Manila. The sort of pub that is handy for a missed train but thats really about it

Pub next to station, good location for quick one before or after train journeys. We went before the racing on a friday and it was pleasant enough. Two cask ales on but werent brilliantly kept but drinkable. Maybe a little more care needed.

Good pool table though
