please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

It's a relatively down to earth late night bar. Strict door policy ensures a good gender mixture and as a result there's plenty of action on the dancefloor. Not the best place in the area but very far from the worst.

Fun little place and open pretty late. Always a nice mix of guys and girls. Service is a little slow but decor is really fun. The food service took forever. Live music downstairs too.

I wish I'd read the review before I gave any money to this bar. The completely ignorant barman was more interested in chatting to his mate than serving anyone at the bar. There was no bar etiquette problem and nobody had to worry about the order in which they arrived at the bar as nobody was getting served! You can only hope that the owner reads these reviews and realises how much money this guys is losing him. My whole football team decided to leave based on this guy's inability to do his very basic job!

Nice ambience, decent music and comfy outdoor seating, but truly appalling service. Went there with three pals on Wednesday night probably looking to spend about 100 between us. There were three people on duty but the chef and one barman were taking an extended break at the same time and the girl the right side of the bar showed no interest in serving anybody, just faffed around making a mojito for herself. We stood at the bar for four or five minutes in open-mouthed disbelief before walking out.

Not a shred of business sense between them. If I was the manager I'd be very disappointed to learn that profits at the very agreeable Bricklayers Arms a short walk away went up as a direct result of his employees' bad attitude.

Been to this bar mid-week a couple of times recently, it has a nice vibe inside. The barman however, has a serious attitude problem and doesn't seem to grasp the concept of serving punters in the order they come to the bar. Fair enough if it's too busy to keep track but when there are only 2 people there and another comes up its easy enough to work out the order! When he did get around to serving me he went off to serve someone else after I began to give him my order! One of the worst barmen i've ever encountered. The main barman (not sure if he's the manager, but he's in charge) is very chatty & friendly and seems to appreciate your custom though.

Both times I had a pint of Peroni and both times unfortunately it was pretty flat, so had to resort to the pricey bottled beer. Had some snacks the second time which were very tasty.

Unfortunately the flat beer and crappy service have put me off ever going back.

I've been to Roadtrip a few times as i work around the corner and i have never had a bad experience really. It gets a bit busy on Fridays and Saturdays for my likeing but to be honest everywhere thats decent in Shoreditch does!

Would definately recommend during the week, especially if the weather is decent and you can sit outside! Also, the guy they have on the front door most weekends is really respectful and most of the staff are a refreshing change to some of the idiots you meet!

I think the last poster, crickey, must be a manager there. I mean who writes such ass licking reviews?

Oh, I believe I can read "Pubs, bars, drinking..." on the header of this website - why go on about the bitter here if it's not only for pubs? DJ bars in London don't usually sell bitter!
Anyway, had a great night on the terrace, danced to the DJ, sipped a few mojitos and as a Shoreditch regular I welcome this bar to Old Street with two open arms!
Differently to the experience of the previous reviewer I found this venue clean and smelling pleasant, although the food smell from the kitchen made me throw my plans to diet out of the window and I ordered a pizza. Nicely cheesy it was. As usual, you have to give a place the benefit of a doubt if something goes terribly wrong. I'll be going back and if it's as good as it was last time I'll go back again.

Absolutely hideous!

Firstly it doesn't sell bitter! Secondly, while ordering, there was a cockroach crawling on the bar and to top it off a mouse ran over my foot. It would be hilarious if it didn't serve food!

I mentioned to the bar maid that rentokill might be needed. She splatted the roach and came out a few minutes later with a tenner for hush money!

When we got home my wife realised her trousers were covered in grease marks from the seating outside. We won't be going back!

Looks more than a bit crap from the outside, but once in it's quite nice - old sofas and chairs, relaxed, shadowy atmosphere and good range of fairly cheap hot snacks. Good range of fresh lager on tap as well (Peroni, Red Stripe, Amstel etc)
