Well, it opened again after presumably recruiting more staff, but then had to close down again because the staff weren't any good ha ha ha.
Added to that, they have been reported for selling meat that was not fit for human consumption (I guess one of the staff grassed them up on that one)
All in all its becoming a bit of a soap opera

Opened up, then closed down again.
According to the local paper they cant get staff of the required standard to work there so they have had to close.
There are plenty of good bar staff and waiting staff in Taunton, but I guess they dont want to work in this place and who can blame them.
No doubt it will open again soon, once they manage to recruit some staff with suitable low standards

Now taken over by Mitchells and Butler and due to open as a Toby carvery.
As carveries go, this place was one of the worst, so anything will be an improvement; even Toby

Tacky Tacky Tacky, why spoil the roadside with so many horrendous !A! boards advertising their crappiness.
For anyone leaving the motorway and heading south, just cary on; there are far better pubs than this nast rip off joint

As an Inn it is in a reasonable state of decorative repair, and that's it best asset. The food
Is atrocious, and "outer space" has more atmosphere!! And speaking of out-side the garden wasn't a barren wasteland, it was a tad better than that. The staff....ahh bless, no doubt they will find their niche one day.

heard some bad reviews , but not too bad, busy, but food was OK

Recently refurbished; looks nice. But unfortunately the food and drink don't!

Carvery's are usually over crowded with riff raff, and the food is usually cold and soggy!
Beers are sparce, no decent real ale's to be seen.

If you're looking for quality, go somewhere else.

Called in as we were looking for food, and we had the carvery. The meat was a bit sparse, but there were plenty of vegetables and 3 types of potatoes including mash which I like. Pricier than some carveries I have been to. Beer on offer was Fullers London Pride and Sharps Doom Bar. London Pride not at its best. Ladies loos needed a refurb. Next to premier inn so it does a lot of food including breakfasts for the captive audience.

Recently re opened after a major re furb, and they are trying to recoup their money by running a shabby rip off joint, with badly cooked poorly served over priced food.
Best avoided

The last time I was in here it was an "all day carvery" type of place. I only wanted a drink at the bar and it seemed to spawn fear and suspicion.

A good place (just off J25 of the M5) to avoid the pubs in the centre of Taunton - although it does get packed Sunday lunchtime for the 'Sunday Roast' crowd. Friendly enough welcome although the staff were a tad rushed. Menu average but good value and beers OK.
