Had a right laugh in here on Saturday night, so much so that I missed by last train back to London.

Haven't been in since it reopened but my partner went in last night on a girls night out and she reports that is it a pulling place for sad losers.

On the surface a classy bar / restaurant that is certainly better than the pub which was there before it But:
Drinks are expensive and the cocktails lack the attention to detail to make them value for money. The food is also very soso they didnt seem to have a real chef one my two visits all the food seemed to be re-heat packet stuff! The staff didnt seem very friendly either !
So its expensive & a bit too pretentious, yet lacks any the attention to detail or quality to back it up.

Good decor, great terrace, reasonable service. Lager 4.20 (steep) wines not the best., decent cocktails. Music can get too loud to have a conversation, great if you don't like the person you are with.

I must say the Fountain is a breath of fresh air for Bishops Stortford. The interior is very meditarian, the staff are extremely friendly and there is a good atmosphere, the drinks are a bit pricey though. But this should not put you off. Highly recommended

Bit of a cheek posting a review as I haven't actually been in. Former rough pub reopened as poncey bistro so I haven't managed to get past the bouncers yet.
