Had a right laugh in here on Saturday night, so much so that I missed by last train back to London.

Haven't been in since it reopened but my partner went in last night on a girls night out and she reports that is it a pulling place for sad losers.

On the surface a classy bar / restaurant that is certainly better than the pub which was there before it… But:
Drinks are expensive and the cocktails lack the attention to detail to make them value for money. The food is also very so’so’ – they didn’t seem to have a real chef one my two visits – all the food seemed to be re-heat packet stuff! The staff didn’t seem very friendly either !
So it’s expensive & a bit too pretentious, yet lacks any the attention to detail or quality to back it up.

Good decor, great terrace, reasonable service. Lager £4.20 (steep) wines not the best., decent cocktails. Music can get too loud to have a conversation, great if you don't like the person you are with.

I must say the Fountain is a breath of fresh air for Bishops Stortford. The interior is very meditarian, the staff are extremely friendly and there is a good atmosphere, the drinks are a bit pricey though. But this should not put you off. Highly recommended

Bit of a cheek posting a review as I haven't actually been in. Former rough pub reopened as poncey bistro so I haven't managed to get past the bouncers yet.
