Visited this pub on past comments and wished otherwise.
Was kept waiting by the Barman/Landlord. A simple "I'll be with you shortly" would have done the trick, but despite coming and going from the bar, he didn't even look at me.
It wouldn't have been so bad but the Spitfire was definately tired and past its best. I didn't stop for a 2nd pint.

I see the last comment was dated July last year but things have changed for the better at The Harrow Inn. The food quality is extremely high, service very good and it is certainly value for money. The wine list is varied and competitively priced and it has been decorated to a high standard which gives it a warm ambience. It is certainly worth a visit, 9 out of 10.

My wife and i went to this inn on our visit from cornwall, we found the place a nice friendly place, it was on the bike night but due to bad weather, only two bikers turned up by the time we left at 8pm, we willl visit again on our next trip from cornwall.

A lovely village pub that has retained its character with a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Food is excellent ranging from the traditional sunday lunch to classic french quisine. Try it!!

Visited this pub for a meal after seeing a review in the local paper. The food is not your average pub food. It is far superior and all freshly cooked. Typical pub dishes are still available but again these are all prepared on site and cooked to order.

The Owners are both very friendly and the pub has a relaxed atmosphere. It also seemed to have a fair few locals in, always a good sign!

Also has a beer garden which i imgaine would be good on a summers day.

Have recomended this pub to friends and not one has been dissapointed!

My partner and I have been visting the Harrow Inn now for a few months and everytime i have been more and more impressed by the food, drink and the welcome we receive everytime we go.

The french couple, Martin and Sophie who own and run it always bend over backwards to make sure we enjoy our night. The food is simply delicious, and is so reasonably priced for the portions and the quality you receive. I always have a small lunch if i know im going to the Harrow in the evening. All of the locals seem friendly and all of the staff have always made us feel welcome.

You would be mad not to visit the Harrow, i had never been in before a few months ago and now im so glad ive found this little gem of a pub and so close to me too. Would definitly highly recommend!!!!

I read one of the comments below and am shocked by the negativity, never have i or seen anyone else receive service like that at the Harrow! Obviously was mistaking it for another place, or clearly has no taste at what a good night is!

Keep up the good work martin and sophie, see you again soon!

Been to this pub for lunch three times over the past two months. The food here is simply excellent! The French influence is clear - we have had lapin au vin, lamb and sweetbreads, and steak with gratin dauphinoise. We also had good old ham, eggs and chips, with proper French frites for just 5.50 which is a bargain compared to other pubs and delicious with it.

Portion size is French - that is, nicely presented and you can still walk afterwards - and nothing wrong with that. Sweets are also French and good. A lot of the ingredients are local. Prices are very reasonable considering the quality of of the food and cooking skill.

The beer is OK but not so impressive as the food. The Shepherd Neame Autumn Red was well kept and seemed to go nicely with whatever we had to eat.

Only average food, small portions, surly staff, half filled cups of lukewarm coffee that was grudgingly replaced by the Manager who failed to utter the magic word "sorry". Don't bother.

Recent change of management. Now owned by a French couple, as a result the food is now excellent but at the same time good value. A gem, restaurant food not to be missed.
