Not a regular but with the escalating prices at The Red Lion & Kings Head I've frequented the Xroads over the last 5 years to catch the footy on their 38'' wall mounted TVs. Although in need of a refit & some TLC by the brewery(come on Punch Taverns), I've always had exemplary service from the male/female staff & have never had to wait unduly for a pint. It doesn't help that they run the bar from one till at the back where the locals congregate so at times the front areas resemble a study are at the library. Although there's a big open and grassed beer garden its given zero attention and the ambience isn't helped by the coven of smokers who shelter under the parasol. If only they'd sort this out they'd get more people eating in the summer months as its now the only pub in the centre of Shepperton with this facility. People tag this as a rough pub but bar the bad language(which the manager should crack down on) the people are pretty salt of the earth types & far removed from the 'pikeys' inverted snobs have suggested on this site previously. Did I mention that a pint of Smiths & Fosters is 1.60 on Mondays, thats about 65% cheaper than the self-styled smart pubs in the area.

Staff are efficient enough but there's no getting away from the fact that this place is a bit of a dump.

Without doubt THE BEST PUB IN THE AREA!!!! I once visited this traditional style pub a year or so ago and said i'd never return. However, a friend persuaded me to give it another go since it's now under new management. WOW what a transformation. I was made welcome and comfortable, enjoyed a clean, fresh beer (1.99 a pint no less), had a delicious lunch while trying to chat up the very dishy assistant manager. Overall I had a very pleasant and enjoyable afternoon at The Crossroads. I would recommond it to everyone.

Heard through the grapevine that new people were running the pub and decided to try it out again after not daring to enter after going in there after our last visit a couple of years ago.
Very pleasantly surprised. Staff were polite and friendly.
Food was really good and it was nice to enjoy a pint of Fosters at 1.99
Have been back a couple of times and not yet had a bad experience.
Would definatly recommend.

I visited this pub with a friend to watch the football one afternoon, I found the staff to be very friendly and welcoming. On which I had been informed that a new management team had recently taken over.
We ordered food here as it offered 2 meals for 7 all day everyday which I thought was great. So we took advantage as good honest pub grub was on offer. The beer prices where also amazing, with a pint of fosters for 1.85 in there January Sale.
I'll definitely be returning here.

this is really quite a poor pub mainly catering for the pikey community of shepperton.

beer and food is cheap but the quality does reflect that.

best to avoid unless your having a quick pint before getting the train

Walked in, saw no beer, so walked out again.

This is a dirty pub. The beer is often either flat lager or bad bitter. The tables are usually in need of a good scrub - sticky and covered in fag ash. Lots of smokers. Very expensive juke box but perhaps they subsidise the food from this because you can get a steak meal for about 4!! (I haven't risked this but they seem to serve a few meals)
Despite the bad bits it is very local to me and I visited this regularly for a quick drink until I discovered the Bell in Old Charlton road which is a world away from this place.

I must add that the Crossroads has improved slightly with the new landlady trying to make things better but there is still a long way to go. Go to the Bell or even the Three Horseshoes at the other end of the High street - still a smokey local but the beer is better.

The Crossroads has inproved a lot over the past few months. The bar Staff seam to be of a mixture of people but all in all things have got better. THe Pub quiz still appears to be fixed with the same people always winning even when the most strange questions are asked. Still it is like Little Britian. But theres nothing wrong in that. PS the food has improved.

Pretty dire. Had to wait god-knows-how-long to get served a pint of almost-undrinkable beer.

Had a decent all day breakfast and pint in here, seemed an OK pub, nothing too special, but perfectly adequate.

Well personaly I think the pub is a dive. But I will say the clientell have character, if characters out of BBC`s `Little Britain` are to your tast!! Last time I went along to the quize night I found it very hard to stop myself from weeing myself with laughter. But don`t take my word for it, get your incontinence pants on and give it a go!!!
