not very pleasant place but serves a purpose... that purpose is that it stays open till around 5 and gives people somewhere to go if they want a fight or drink until their liver gives up and goes home on it's own!!

Visited this pub on my visit to Newbury on 23/5/12 I found the staff very friendly and talkative prices not too bad but it does need some refurbishing was only open from 4pm on the day of my visit

Now a gay bar. That is all.

Now starting to trade on it's past reputation. It's dirty and squalid and frankly not fun anymore.

Went in it for St Patricks Day- first time in ages. Always used to be full but now at less than 50% capacity. In all honesty the turf actually improves the place. The loos and pub in general look really run down. It's like it is owned by a bunch of students who just don't give a shit.

Bar staff are weried here. There's a portly ginger girl who always has her norks our, and a couple of other ones who don't seem to have any sort of charm.

Used to be so much better. Hope they'd sort the floor out and give the place a tidy up- would really help it.

Went to the Snooty Fox for the first time in a couple of years a while ago and was actually a little disapointed. While there seemed to be a lot of people in for a session, the beer could have been better and the staff a little more friendly to 'outsiders'. Smiles cost nothing! In general, the place could have done with a proper clean too, but then that's probably me just being picky!!

Maybe I'm just getting old, but it's not a pub I'd tell my mates to go to. Good for stag parties and lashed up evenings, but not much else.

The really frightening thing about this turf on the floors and tables,is that it actually makes the pub look cleaner!

problem with this pub is most nights there are flies than punters. and the floors are in a right state like they've been cleaned with sh*te! and the ginger barmaid is a right misery, getting a sensible conversation out of her is like teaching a monkey to breakdance. not happening.

Great boozer with a friendly welcome. TVs for those who want to watch sport and papers for those who don't. Every St Patrick's Day the whole pub (bar and tables included) is covered with turf. Holds annual tug-of-war contest on St. George's Day.
