please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

The most expensive pub on my travels but that had something to do with me drinking the real cider at £3.60 a pint. I was only drinking cider because the real ale wasn't on because the compressor in the cellar had packed up. The pub is a bit dated and needs to be brought into the future. As you walk into the main room the real ale pump is on the far side so it could be easily missed, plus the pump clip is turned to the side which I enquired about and was told it was so people can see it! Think a dummy pump may be needed as you come in.

Now selling a real cider from red bank cider farm from Bolton. Very enjoyable

The Beehive has replaced the King's Head (opposite) in the Good Beer Guide. So I thought I'd give it a try whilst in the area on Saturday. Was there for opening. But somehow, two others had beaten me too it. There must be a rear entrance that they had opened first. Locals pub with friendly service. It's far more cosy than the King's Head, as it is much smaller. They only have one ale, which is a changing guest - Bradfield Farmer's Steel Cow. Live music was advertised roughly every fortnight. There is also a cheap food menu. Not a bad little pub.

The Beehive fly's the flag for real ale in the town. Shame that enough isn't sold for an extra handpump. Like the beers particularly from local breweries.

Just been speaking to the Landlord and he said they will now have Wilson Potter beers on from Thursday.

Try the white swan. Brewed by hornbeams.

Thought id sample the real ale on offer and wasn't disapointed with the landlors choice. It was Hornbeams wooden you believe it after the brewery being 5 years old. The pub needs a new lick of paint and maybe another hand pump and possibly a sign outside stating it sells real ale. It has a great free jukebox playing all the classics from the 60s to the stranglers, smiths and stone roses from the 80s. Visiting football fans please note the food stops serving at 3.

The Hornbeam beers are selling really well, i wish a few of the other landlords in Droylsden would take a punt and try some local real ales instead of something you can easily get like bombardier, marstons or spitfire.

Love the new beer in the bee hive but it should be promoted on the other side of the bar. Outstanding brewery is one of the best in the Manchester area. I also tried the food which was surprisingly cheap given this pub is one of the most expensive in the area. Well done.

Used to be such a good pub, always packed and a good atmosphere but has sadly gone downhill over the last few years. Not surprising given that you have a draught choice of Carling, John Smiths Smooth, Keg Boddies, Guiness or cask 'Outstanding Blonde' which to be frank was awful. All prices sky high as well. Not sure who sets the policy regarding what they sell and at what prices; the Landlord or some external concern, but to me it has destroyed what used to be a quality pub. Have a look at the Lazy Toad. Not as nice a pub but a good selection of beers at reasonable prices. By far the busiest pub in Droylsden

Got to agree the new beers from Outstanding brewery are very good lets hope the locals take to them.

Great friendly local with cosy atmosphere and free jukebox. Shame it's a little quiet at times but the new cask ale from Outstanding Brewery (Blonde & Red) is a pleasing adittion and a really good beer. Looking forward the the next cask ale!

Went in the Beehive on Saturday with my husband, it was really busy due to the local football game being on and the landlord has finally got a cask ale back on...Outstanding Blonde apparently!! My hubbie says its great and he's been to a few of the acoustic nights there on a Friday night too which have been good also. Seems the Beehive is getting better! (No riff raff either!)

Heard a rumour that the landlord is considering putting cask back on. Outstanding beers has been muted.

Not been in for food for a while but heard the beehive a new menu so decided to give it a try. I was not disapointed! Yum yum! I had a steak n ale pie n i must say it was delish! Service was great. Eatin area really traditional and homely and the staff are so lovely. Defo recomend to everyone even those on a low budget. Some of the decor quite old fashioned but that is what gives it character. The beehive is welcoming n just like a pub should be! (Nice clean beer too!) Well done mr beehive we will be visiting you again soon!

Id love this pub to be taken over by Sam smiths and challenge The Kings Head (Joseph Holts Beers) on price. The Beehive is far to expensive and doesn't have any cask beers. The place has not changed since i first went in the 1990s and according to my Dad since he has known it. My Dad reckons the landlord keeps the prices high to keep the riff raff out but i feel thats a cop out and just panders for certain clients. Apparently the food at dinner time is pretty good which seems to be the busiest time.

we held our babys christening here last sunday and was told that we could have the room free for the after party as the pub was kept open, we were then told that the buffet we wanted the price would be decided on what monies were took on the day behind the bar. we got there and we had the food also people in the pub were taking the food who were not part of the christening party also the barmaid helped herself all day to food also handing out to regulars.I would not have been bothered by this but at the end to be given a bill for 320 was disgusting , i am appauled at the pure cheek of this and personally think its wrong for a landlord to say something then give me a piece of paper handed by the barmaid not him simply with 320 wrote on it, i think this is disgusting behaviour and would not recommend anyone hiring the room there, members of my family regularly drink here and as from now are going elsewhee with there custom. there is no wonder this pub is going down hill and not making much money anymore

This is a lovely little pub, almost from a bygone era. The main room is full of plants, pictures and horse brasses. Theres loads of comfortable seating near the bar and also in the slightly raised lounge area. Theres also a tap room with a dart board. Sadly its now keg only, a few years ago they at least sold cask Boddingtons. Its a nice place but the lack of cask ale means that we usually have one and move on.
