Handy for Foregate Street station, four ales on, had Butty Bach which was good. Quiet as had only just opened, friendly barmaid.

Visiting Worcester for the first time, amongst the things I wished to see was a memorial to the Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes, tragically killed in November 2014. He played for Worcestershire a few years previously & has been respectfully honoured by the club. The Cricketers Pub was another destination & they had a bat on display signed by many fine cricketers, including Hughes. With that intro, the pub could have been a dive & I'd still extol it, but it was actually quite fine, friendly & quiet, and I had a reflective pint of Doom Bar (3.20).

Good Beers - with Sadlers and Woods on tap - I went for the Shropshire Lass and it was decent enough.

Might have picked the wrong night to go in - but oh the clientèle. Like Jeremy Kyle's waiting room. The couple opposite were debating on whether to get another drink or not. He seemed to think the outcome would be decided on the likelihood of fellatio. At least that would stop them from having children, I suppose.

Don't think there is enough to make me want to come back.

me and my partner last visited this pub nearly 12 months ago and had heard that it had recently been taken over,as we walked through the door the changes were obvious, clean, tidy and as for the clientele we had previously come across it all seemed very relaxed and a lot more friendly, the staff were polite and my pint of cask bitter was excellent, me and my partner decided to stay for lunch and two main meals for 8.00 was fantastic value for money, its clear to see that this pub is on the up,the staff mentioned to us that it is due a refurbishment,it wont be long before this pub will be the place to be,we will be back!!!!!!!

Went in yesterday still feels the same cosy pub it always has still serves the same high quality beers and still has the mix of characters that brings back memories of how a pub used to be. So overall still a great pub, the pub had to be sold on because I believe one of the owners unfortunately passed away.

This pub used to be a real gem! cosy, friendly atmos, great beer, local, friendly staff. Used to have mountains of cricket memorabilia on the walls. Bags of character.......... BUT
It has recently been bought out, has sold all its cricket trinkets for charity, and is now, im sorry to say, rubbish.

A discovery. After a rare visit to Worcester for some shopping with my wife we found this and had a meal and (too much) beer.

A good little pub, although it might not be that enticing from the outside and it's not in the best part of town.

That said I've never had any trouble of the locals, in fact i've found this to be one of the friendliest pubs in Worcester. Landlady has always been lovely, the Landlord even showed me around the cellar when I was last there, so I can accurately attest the beer is very well kept!

Like other visitors, I found tis a delightful and intersting pub rather spoilt by loud mouthed locals loud mouthing about their private lives at teatime on a friday night. As a visitor to the city it was rather off-putting. Could the landlord/lady sort this out?

Had half a dozen lovely 'well kept' pints in here. the Landalady and staff very pleasant. Great Worcester memorabilia cricket adorn the walls. Cannot see why some other posts here think the locals are out of order. Treat as you find... Long live Graeme Hick....... I'll be back for sure..

Agree with Clive_Pendleton, very good pub spoiled by some of it's clientele, tho' I did not see any problems when I was there. Very good manager, and good range of beer. My pint of dark wasn't up to scratch. Rather than complain (very British you see) I went and got an alternative drink. How the manager noticed I don't know but he arrived at the table with a fresh pint and full refund. I can recommend him and the pub as long as you are not put off by "rough looking" crowd.

Great pub. Shame about the clientele. My girlfriend and I visited for the cricket and naturally, with the huge amount of memorabilia on the walls, this was a very interesting place with decent ale. We wouldve stayed longer but for the group of ridiculously drunk and leery locals, clearly old enough to know better, taking the p*ss & trying to pick arguments with people (ourselves included) theyd identified as up for the cricket. Still, apart from the pondlife, a great pub.

Busy town centre boozer, limited selection of RA but competently kept.

Visited this comfortable single room pub with plenty of cricketing memorabilia around the walls in November 07 and enjoyed the atmosphere and the beer.
