Hmmm, what to say about the Island. I have to say that when we visited there for a family due, we were looking forward to having a memorable night, unfortunately it was memorable for all the wrong reasons. When this place changed from the Caversham Princess, it had every opportunity in the town to be incrediably successful. Great location but a great let down. There were 6 of us, 2 peoples foods were not available. Our choice of wine was not available twice. Then at the end of the evening, BOOM BOOM BOOM, the music from the downstairs bar intruded. Might go back again but will have to be much better i'm afraid to say. 4/10

This is a great bar. In the summer it is fabulous to sit outside on the terrace and enjoy a nice cold drink. The staff are friendly and attentive. They remember you when you go back which is very pleasant in this day and age!

The bar would benefit from a log fire for the winterv as it can be a little minimalist and sterile. Heartily recommended though!

Great bar!! Food excellent and good value. Staff really friendly. Sitting outside on a summer's evening (mid-week) enjoying a drink is a real pleasure

went there on a Tue night - was pretty quiet but perfect to sit and eat out on the decking / terrace.
restaurant not open apparently yet but the barfood was pretty special I must say - better than some "restaurant" fare I've been offered in the past.
top place to eat and entertain - will go back on a weekend to see how busy it gets!

This place which used to be a good restaurant as well is now closed and is a pile of bricks and some structural steelwork on the island- when it will reopen is anyone's guess

Small note of caution - when I passsed this mid river landmark last Friday they were busy pulling it down which seemed a shame. Couldn't stop and ask as was driving at the time !

S'alrigth, nice views of the river (as you're sat right in the river), cold beer. Staff a bit useless, but it is a great spot on a Summer's evening....

The only place to go on a hot summers day / night. Excellent food also.
