Avoid at all costs; mass produced food, badly cooked, expensive & poor service. Shockingly bad.

The "Luz" has improved tremendously since loud mouthed Luke has gone and has been replaced by Tim and his partner. It's still mainly "pub" food orientated, but does serve excellent Green King Abbott and now Moreland Speckled Hen, both at 3.00 a pint. Service can be a little bit slow at times, but this is due to of it's popularity. Good beer gardens front and rear, family friendly.

My wife and I visited on 23.07.08. Bat staff friendly and helpful. My wifes beef and ale pie was awful, tough meat and rock hard pastry. My fish was OK but not great. Complained about the pie. Manageress/owner helped herself to some pie off my wife plate !!!and agreed it was tough but added that no one else had complained in the past.Probably couldn`t as they were to busy chewing. She told us that their food was bought in. My wife took the scampi as an alternative. Big mistake, soggy tasteless mess. We will not be going back and could not recommend the foor to anyone.

More of a restaurant than a pub these days, not much in the way of a beer selection beyond the usuals. Beer garden isn't bad though.

Visiting Romsey for Xmas we went to this pub on Boxing Day. Total disappointment. Has gone very much downhill since 10 years ago, which is a shame as it could be so good.

Busy as you would expect for Mother's Day lunchtime but staff were welcoming, polite and friendly and place had a relaxed atmosphere. Lots of parking and great character pub, apparently 16th century farmhouse once with beams in evidence. Didn't sample the beer this time, but menu was varied, about 8 to 14 for main course; 3 odd for starters and desserts. Food passable but not exceptional - however, will give it another visit.

Lovely food, lots of it. Good selection of 'specials'. Highly recommend the venison. Staff friendly and polite.

Most reviews do not reflect current situation.
Owner has changed many times since 2003, bar has been refitted and lost atmoshere. No longer a big scary dog (which was actually lovely). No longer chicken.

The Luz used to be one of my favorite places when I lived in the UK. Now in Detroit, USA. Spent many happy hours in the garden. Good food and beer.

Nice Pub, good atmosphere. Good selection of beers. Think the owner wrote about him being great! Big garden, scary dog. And oh yer there are chickens. Bit pricey but good.

Large foody pub but also has a good selection of drinkable real ale and sometimes has live music. Home of the Romsey beer festival (Sep).
