Now the Black Dog. Incredible range of ales, ciders and perries with good cooked food too. The word has obviously got around because this was busy when nearby pubs were empty - but not too busy, plenty of tables inside and out. Everything's still new and in great condition. Highly recommended.

The Albany Arms has re-opened as the Black Dog Beer House. It is a valuable addition to the area, with a great selection of ales and ciders. The atmosphere is comfortable. The gents toilets are spacious! Ales on during our visit were Heavy Industry Pigeon Toes Orange Peel, Brew York Brew York, Howling Hops Pudding Ale Chocolate Stout, Ainsty Rattlesnake Ruby, Ilkley Joshua Jane, Rooster's YPA & Tiny Rebel Juicy. Ciders were Bumble Bee Gribble, Gwynt y Ddraig Happy Daze, Eden Still Cloudy Medium, Abrahall's Ashton Bitters & Ashridge Pear Cider. There was also a good selection of craft beers. Makes for a good crawl in Brentford now from the Express Tavern to the Magpie & Crown. Close to Brentford FC's football ground too. Definitely worthy of a visit these days, despite the poor reviews under its previous guise.

This place is better than the Savoy-it has 22 Michelin stars.Lots of Hollywood celebs come here.I have seen Prince Charles eating here on many occasions, sometimes with the Pope. It also featured in a BBC2 documentary called "If Jesus was alive,he would eat here".

I appreciate the sentiments of the review posted below, but feel I must correct a factual inaccuracy.
It is stated by the previous reviewer that the BITE ownership no longer cares for accuracy.
This is wrong. They have never cared for accuracy, which is why a lot of previous reviewers moved to one of the professionally managed sites you mention, and primarily the first one, a long time ago..

The fact that rubbish posted by bees4evva is allowed to stay on for more than 5 minutes tells you that BITE no longer cares for accuracy or indeed any of the pubs listed, unless they pay a hefty registration fee. BITE's owners gave up two or three years ago and you can no longer add new pubs, report closures or name changes etc as you can do on professionally managed sites. This is a sad state of affairs, but if you wish to know where to find a decent pint and/or a tasty bite you would be far better off using pubsgalore, pubsandbeer, ratebeer and maybe simply google. Whilst BITE continues to display the nonsense reviews it does, and not to care tuppence about pubs, accuracy of information or even its own loyal decent usership, it is placing itself out of the running as a reliable site. What a great pity.

According to the Honslow Chronicle this pub has now had its opening hours reduced to 11.30 pm Fri, Sat and 11 pm weekdays. This is to try and appease the neighbours who have borne the brunt of many a late night brawl in the streets, to put it mildly.

It sounds as though this pub can only get better. It is NEVER a good thing for a pub to close for ever.

Horrible pub.

Visited after football and it was dead. Bar staff looked surprised to see punters and the place has the feel of a pub about to close.

Avoid at all costs.

Oh dear. When you pop into a backstreet pub during lunchtime any problems are not usually that obvious as it is quiet and any patronage is usually local. Not the Albany!

I had to wait, with fiver in hand, at the bar whilst the barmaid talked through me to her friends who were leaving. Once she had finished she was very friendly whilst serving me, but I had to go into the beer garden to finish my tangy half as Im not a big daytime T.V. person and I was the only person in the pub.

One saving grace is that there is a pool table and a dartboard, but I think that 50% of pubs in Brentford have a pool table and dartboard so Ill be giving this place the Spanish archer in future.

Chav Heaven. Great for watching female bar staff and patrons flashing body parts and listening to their sexual exploits. When we were there some of the females were in the gents. Great for looking at the carpet design before chucking your beer down and clearing-off.

All the pubs near the ground have had a mention except this one! Why?
