Now called The Castle Tap, real ale from micros as well as craft beer offerings.

Locals pub with football on the TV the day we went; was grim when we arrived and the match was in progress but as soon as the footie finished lots of people left and it turned into a friendly old fashioned pub. Only one real ale on at a time but very good: fff Moondance and Alton Pride I think.

Back street local, except it's not on a back street but on one of the main routes into town. Seems to be very much a locals' place. They do have a real ale on (usually from fff I believe) but my mate and I were the only ones drinking it on my last visit. Still, it's not a bad place, and nicely old-fashioned if that's what you like.

An old Victorian beer house, and one of the last of its kind in Reading. Small, functional, and home to a handful of regulars. Friendly enough and beer is generally good. Unless you live next door, it's a bit too out of the way for a casual drop in unfortunately.

A large pub in a leafy part of Reading, A high ceiling and a racing theme with the footy scores interrupted for a race on the TV. I spotted 2 pub cats. Seems a bit of a locals pub. Had 1 real ale fff Moondance, it tasted like vinegar, after our group voiced their opinions the offending beer was taken off and a new barrel was put on, it was very nice.

Boring pub. Only good for music bands.

Music venue. Not much else to say, quite uninspiring.

New landlord has taken over (formerly of the Claddagh Ring), so let's see if he can this place back on its feet.

Under threat of closure due to a Change of Use application being submitted to the Council.

Goes through licensees as fast as Amy Shitehouse smoked crack pipes.

Not a bad little place, but lacks any real character, it needs a good bit of investment.

Has a couple of ales on - quality usually fair to good. Normally one from Triple FFF but not been in for a while, may have changed again.

Dart board gets a few games and theres a stupidly small beer garden (I use that phrase loosely) but otherwise a bit of a non-entity really.

Needs a sustained period of good, solid management and a few quid thrown at it.

Tatty but has a good atmosphere.

Good selection of beer, with some interesting bottles, too (Hampshire Penny Black, for example).

Decent live music venue if a tad small and slightly rundown interior

Got much better after change of landlord and name. Small but quite pleasant inside if a bit loud (jukebox)

Inoffensive pub, good beer.

Not much else to it really!
