Cosy old skool drinking den in a converted fish cellar.

A crazy amount of ales on offer, would like to visit again when I have more time.

7/10

A one bar free house housed in an old fish cellar.

Very, very popular and always packed and difficult to find a seat! The reason why is friendly staff serving a variety of real ales, all of which were 'local' at time of visit and all in very good condition. I am not sure just how many there were on tap but must have been at least 8 plus cider.

Great location as well...right on the quay. Falmouth has a variety of pubs like most towns, but if you like good beer served with a smile then this has to be one of the best in town.

10 real ales on handpull now available at all times and with better condition thanks to our newly built dedicated cask ale cellar, with another 4 handpulls being fitted soon so that our real ciders can also be served at a cooler temperature. The focus will still be mainly on Cornish brewers and producers, but with more out of county guests also featuring. Again, thanks to all of our customers, old and new for a fantastic summer season, looking forward to a lovely winter & Christmas with plenty of porters, stouts and winter warmers. See you at the bar, Matt :)

This pub is a cellar on the edge of Falmouth Harbour, they stock about ten ales(a beer festival every day!) at a time mostly on gravity the Porthleven from Skinners was top hole. They do not sell food and encourage you to bring in your own, the fish shop at the front( the front is at the back, confusing, just a bit) is the usual beneficiary as it does award winning fish and chips of an unbelievably good standard. The other drinkers were either students or pensioners, it was a lunchtime.Probably as important to real ale devotees in Cornwall as the Star Inn at Crowlas or the Blue Anchor at Helston.

Easily one of the best pubs I've ever been in. An outstanding range of ales - Falmouth's own permanent ale festival - which are always well kept, and the variety of bottles and ciders, both local and from afar, just top up any visit. The staff are knowledgable and extremely friendly, and the atmosphere is excellent. There's always someone to chat with and the location, as well as the fact you can bring in your own food, make it a well-rounded pub and a well-deserved CAMRA award winner.

This is a brilliant pub. I've been on a tour of all of Falmouths pubs recently and I think this was probably my favourite. A nice atmosphere, good music, busy but with enough seating and an outside area overlooking the harbour, people of all ages and a fantastic selection of cask booze including a choice of 6 or 7 ciders, they even had a selection of games such as Connect 4 ! A super pub. Thoroughly recommended.

Dropped in for one as I saw it in the papers and had an excellent pint of Heligans Honey. Could easily have settled down for the afternoon, but had to move on sadly.

The first pub I ever visited in Falmouth (last Friday!) Not difficult to see why it is CAMRA's Cornish pub of the year.

Popped in last Thursday as the chalkboard caught my eye. Disorganised looking place inside but the Skinners Cornish Knocker was superb, as was the Hopback Summer Lightning drawn stright from the cask. Quirky but interesting and well worth a visit for the ale list alone.

Now in the Good Beer Guide 2011. Myself and the team would like to thank all current, past, and future customers and friends for their patronage. Cheers!

Great little pub with a good selection of ales. Good athmosphere too.

A bit of an odd one, the Front. Not your typical Pub but none the worse for that. Well kept local beers, direct from the cask rather than hand-pulled, Cornish Orchards Cider and the infamous Ginger Beer. No food but you can bring your own perhaps from the excellent fish and chip shop from Harbour Lights. A short walk from the Chainlocker, Quayside Inn and Oddfellowes, so the four best Pubs in Falmouth are within 100 yards of each other.Well worth a punt.

Awesome pub. Loads of great ales (especially during the beer festival). Live music, Friendly staff. And you can bring in pasties. Perfect

In Falmouth for the beer festival, and thought there would be a good selection of beers on the stillage here seeing that a lot of real ale drinkers were in town, but there was not a great selection and I had Fullers ESB while the other half enjoyed his Skinners Pennycomequick. Cottage Triumph Stag and Sharps Special and other Skinners on with Sarah Hughes Ruby Mild and Sharps Red Ale to come on.

Unassuming friendly bar with mixed clientelle and one or two interesting and previously unheard of brews. Entertainment on the night we went in but we didn't hear them as they were sat around a table eating fish & chips brought in from the Harbour Lights next door.

Happened to see the real ale sign outside while in Falmouth on 15th June, and suprised when we went in to find we had just missed a beer festival. Really wished we had seen it advertised somewhere as we love attending beer festivals. I didn't chicken out of trying the Oakleaf Grasshopper at 3.7% although my better half did. It was lemongrass and chilli and I did have a half of it. Really gave my tastebuds a tingle. Will look out for this pub again when in Falmouth.

Seems to be called The Front now, but I don't know if that is the official name. Regular Monday Cornish and European folk nights. Skinners Ales available including Cornish ciders

Have only been here on Monday evenings when the Cornish music and dancing is on. They have a tasty lager called Atlantic, I usually drink ales, but I like this. Good atmosphere
