Had a bad lunch today. 1st I had asked for extra butter, 2. potatoe was not hot enough to melt the only bit of butter I had. 3.replacement came back with less filling than the 1st one and no butter 4.Potatoe had large black patch that had to be cut away. totally disgracefull.

One could be forgiven for mistaking this place for the Premier Inn next door as they seem to melt into one.

Pride, Adnams and Hobgoblin were available during my visit alongside a standard draught selection. Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, my Guinness was poured in one go creating a massive head making me wonder if the staff were trained how to work the bar or just how to put money in the till.

I suppose this place is ok if youre a guest next door and you dont know the area as this place is better than no pub at all just!

Ignorant staff is what really kills the place. The beer is Ok, the food so and so. Had better times watching paint dry. Will never come back.

Just bobbed in here to check it out and enquire whether teh football woudl be shown later on this evening. What you need to know (1) yo have to pay to use teh car park and it's only refunable if yo ubuy a meal (2) the bar staff are rude and ignorant - I stodd at the bar when there were no other customers for a full two minutyes whilst there were 3 members of staff behind the bar. One of them came and started working in fonrt of me behind eth bar and without sayiong to me 'aorry aboyt this, we'll be with you in a minute' or something along those lines, caried on working with her back to me and then shouted across to one of the others 'can you sort this fella out'. (3) they had no idea if the football was gong to be on or not, and when they asked me what channel it was on, finally decided that it probably wouldn't be. (4) the outside smoking area seems to be the front door so to get through the main entrance you need to side step through a gang of smokers nad the whole entrance smelt horrible.

Now I don't care if they show football or not, but the rudeness and lack of basic decent customer-facing politeness and the lack of knoweldge about which services the pub actually provides is just ridiculoous.

I won't be going back.

Hmmm

I need to think about this one. Initial impression is that it falls into the 'truly horrible' category. Loud, drunk, sweary people still being served when clearly already pie-eyed. Feels threatening. Great quote from one punter recently - "I'm going to get as drunk as I can". Nice.

Will mull over some more and then decide if it falls into the slot of worst pub I've been in for x years.

New to the area so cant say I knew what it was like before, but have been there a few times now and must admit I found it pretty good. Service was ok (not tried food yet though) and the prices are what you would expect with it being adjoined to a Hotel.

I must admit since moving to Hatfield Ive found good local pubs few and far between so this place easily gets an above average rating from me!

Had a refurb six odd months ago and it was done pretty well. The manager is a nice guy and the beer's OK but service is slow and the food is rubbish. It's bad news when a "chef" can't even cook frozen chips properly. Also extremely expensive for what it is. In short quite a poor pub but given the dearth of alternatives and the presence of thousands of thirsty workers across the road it's not like they really have to try. I would guess they do about ninety per cent of their business Friday lunchtime as the place heaves.

Typical Brewers Fayre - what you expect is what you get. But as it's attached to a Lodgey Hotel Thingy, it's the only pub I know where you have to pay to use the car park.
