If you have a job and hard working don't go in this place as you won't have nothing in common with the regulars.

We went for a few beers on a Saturday afternoon & it was very friendly, great bar staff, e-cig friendly, great prices & excellent quality of beers & Guiness, we'll certainly be back again. Its great to find an old traditional pub when all around are 'bars' full of children pretending to be adults & causing trouble for those around them.
Keep out of the Bowling Green if you don't like it & stay in the Ash Tree & we'll all be happy !

The only thing that's top about this place is when it closes.

This has probably one of the best bars in Ashton its a shame they don't have at least one cask on. 99p for a bottleof Carlsberg being the cheapest drink i think. If it wasn't for The Bowling green wetherspoons would rule the roost in this part of Ashton. Definetly a few characters in here but ive never had any mither. Good pool table but thats about it.

Would contributors stop knocking the Bowling Green. This establishment does Ashton-under-Lyne a great public service - it keeps all the reprobates, freaks, workshy and kaylied pensioners off the streets every day between 10am and 6pm. A truly remarkable Giro pub.

Although having been done up it's still the pits. The bouncer throws the drunks IN.

Excellent bitter - only 1.40. Nicely spruced up since I last visited but still frequented by dropouts and freaks.

The Inside of the Bowling Green Pub from the decor to the bar to the carpets is really nice now since it's been done up, I was very suprised how lovely the pub looks now! It is maybe one of the best pubs in Ashton-under-lyne with it's cheap pints of beer and has Entertainment on in the Pub too......it's a good Northern Pub!

Has just had a makeover at long last and a very good one at that. No wonder all the deadlegs and alcos who frequent the place think they're in the Dorchester. Beer still 1.30 an excellent.

Packed out as usual - no wonder at only 1.30 for a great pint of bitter. An oasis for the old and the infirm.

they call it the submarine club, more like the titanic club, it should sunk no survivors, with a trace. My shoes sank into the carpet as it was so saturated with piss and stale beer, however on the lighter side of life, for all those alcholics beers are cheap.

Known locally as The Submarine Club (Dive, dive , dive) - all the low life go in. However, beer good and cheap.

Sundays are great in the Bowling Green - karioke, sky football and cheap beer. Try it.
