Jubilee bank holiday Sunday and very quiet. Strange place with a strange smell - not that of success. The single real ale was a desperate looking Abbot so I tried the Guinness - never tasted like this before. Card school enjoying themselves, 2 or 3 others, no fights admittedly but never to venture into again. Scope but dead on its feet.

The pits.Bad even by Slough standards.

I went to visit a friend in Slough a few months ago and had a couple of very nice pints in the Rose and Crown at the top of the High Street. I then made the schoolboy error of popping into this pub with my friend and i really wish i hadnt. There was a fight between some drunken local chav girl and one of the female barmaids. Most of the punters were too pissed
to give a toss anyway-and this was at 2PM on a Saturday. God knows what its like at 10PM!! Stay
well clear.

full of the type of people who have little interest in anything aside from football and who are semi literate if not functionally illiterate;hence "cliantel" in the previous comment.

Great place to start the weekend off, the best & only place to watch live football in the area, cracking atmosphere & generally excellent cliantel. plus the staff are always friendly & up for a laugh. The prices are one of the lowest in town.

appalling dump.full of people who consider[if they have the mental capacity enabling such a thought process]that bringing children into a pub with drunk foul mouthed "adults"is ok.this pub is frequented by some of the scummiest people in slough.generally the ale is not on and if it is is of pretty poor quality.

Renamed Wernham Hoggs (a la "The Office"). Good name, but the pub/food/beer is exactly the same. You can pretty reliably get a good pint of Abbot in there - if you can get served in a reasonable timeframe.

The pub's not called Lloyds No 1 anymore - there is currently a competition underway to choose a new name. Tend to go in at lunchtimes. They have a good selection of beers on the counter, although often some are unavailable (including cider and lagers strangely). I find the place a bit soulless actually and the service can be infuriatingly slow because the cheaper prices are reflected by the number of barstaff.

much better when the bar stools were in front of the window to people watch

Good atmosphere, cheap drinks. Unfortunately there are no other good pubs in the area worth going to so you will be stuck in the same pub all night.
