Cracking little pub tucked off the main shopping street and a real ale lovers mecca.

8 hand pumps with a cracking range of ales on, mainly local or microbreweries' with every ale available being a new one for me, now that's a feat! I worked my way through a few pumps with my ales being Flipside Brewery Flipping Best @ 4.6%; Glenworth Brewery Iceman @ 4.5%; Lincoln Green Brewing Co Sherwood @ 4.4% and Tring Wooden Wonder @ 4.2%. There's also a decent Belgian bottle beer range.

The pub feels very much like a micro pub , maybe that's what it is!

Friendly & chatty locals I had a very pleasant time drinking here, scores highly from me.

Wow rated 8.8 prior to this post.
Who am I to change that for what is a small but cracking pub.
Here last Saturday just after 1.00pm and half a dozen others present.
Some piped music was plying in the background.
They have 9 hand pulls with 8 for ale and one for cider.
All ales from little know brewers with no sign of the dreaded doom bore.
I had a pint of Doncaster brewers Glenworths Summer End which was very nice indeed for £2.60 a pint.
Only the pressure of time stopped me trying another.

Still the towns leading real ale venue. 8 real ales and real cider.

Small bar that has an older feel to it. Good selection of ales. Best bet for a decent ale in he town.

By far the best pub in Gainsborough for real ale. It always has something interesting on the handpumps.

Small, L-shaped floor area but only one leg of it with seating, although there is an upstairs lounge, which appeared closed at lunchtime. The outside seating that I enjoyed on a previous visit was absent. Perhaps its a little early in the year. This pub is really very pleasant, made especially so by the large, well-kept real ale selection.

As the name suggests this small friendly bar is an oasis in a desert of mediocrity. Just around the corner, from wetherdogs, 8 J B`s has 8 real ales(most change when empty)3 real ciders, czech budzvar & leffe blond on draught aswell as dozens of bottle beers. If you catch it right you may be able to sample 11 beers as they are changed as they run out. The pub is in the camra real ale guide & has reached the final of the pub of the year twice.Thursday night is live music night. The staff are all amiable & helpful & will let you sample any of the beers.People travel from all over the region to this pub & all are made welcome. If your in ask if "Harry`s in" & i`ll have a beer with you.
