Stayed a couple of nights here earlier in the year - the first time we'd been back for many years. It's a most impressive place, though the most impressive part of it - the main hall at the front - is only accessible as part of the hotel, and seems to be barely used at all, which is a pity.
The bar at the back, which is really where it all happens, is very pleasant and comfortable with a genuine 'pubby' atmosphere, attracting plenty of local trade. Beer in good nick - I stuck to Hook Norton Bitter; good value food, served by pleasant and helpful staff.
The room we stayed in was comfortable, though rather dark, and was not too expensive.Altogether, a pleasant stay, and one we shall hope to repeat before too long.

14th Century Inn that was connected to a nearby Priory, hence the name. Beer and food is well priced and fantastic. Monks Bar or lounge are very warm and cosy.
Setting is nice, a typical Cotswold vilage. Staff are very friendly too, they are very helpful. 9/10 for this place.

Sadly only got chance to visit here once when in the area, but would gladly have returned if time had permitted. Food was very good and the beer was excellent - particularly a pint of Whippet (not sure of the brewery) that was exactly my taste.
Staff were very friendly, as were the clientele, and we felt welcome in the snug even with our young (21 month old) daughter along.

A real find this one. In the �Monk�s Bar� at the back of the hotel, you may find up-market diners mixing with old codgers playing cribbage, but you can also dine in the separate restaurant. Food is above average and not expensive for this area, with a reasonable veggie choice. Well-kept real ales, Hooky Bitter plus two guests. This is a 14th. century building with lots of character and the wood-panelled bar manages to be both smart and homely. There is a log fire for Winter and for Summer an attractive courtyard garden plus an informal grassed area with picnic tables at the far rear where Aunt Sally is also played.

Great gem! Food was reasonably priced and very tasty! Staff was friendly, and real ales were fantastic. Didn't stay in hotel, but the building is apparently over 700 years old, so the whole feel was timeless. Highly recommended!
