Great boozers pub - from the decor, to the furniture, to the CAMRA certifications, where they appear to have cleaned up all the prizes for every year.

Yates Bitter in great condition.

The Manor Arms restored our faith in Broughton after the disappointment of the other pubs. This is a friendly single bar local that is deservedly popular. Yates's Bitter, Abbeydale Doctor Morton's Eurocrat, Town House Audley Gold, Cumbrian Legendary Ales Loweswater Gold, Hawkshead Windermere Pale & Cumberland Corby Pale were the ales. Ciders and perries were Somerset Fruit Forager & West Country & Westons Old Rosie, Rosie's Pig & Country Perry. Locals were friendly especially the Egremont Cricket Club drinkers (well actually they weren't that local) and the pub had a real traditional feel. Staff are also friendly and professional - one is happy to pull some of the beers, whilst another deals with the same order from the cellar. It is pleasantly situated overlooking the square. The only two downsides for me were the 2 unused handpulls and the conspicuous lack of a stag party that had supposedly booked all of the pub's accommodation. We were there until last orders and they still hadn't appeared. Sadly we ended up at the Old Kings Head for the night!

The best place in Broughton for real ale. Good range of mainly Cumbrian beers. Limited food, but the Black Cock is only a minute's walk away. They do accommodation too.

I visited again recently on holiday. IT NEVER disapoints, Landlord even brought round plates of warm garlic bread and pizza to keep us going while we drank his excellent and well priced beers. Yates was 2-20.

I just love this place.. Perfect for a pint after a days walking

Simply one of the very best boozers in Britain.

Great range of beers at great prices. There is even a tasting order though my preference would be to reverse the list and go from sweet to dry.

For what it is and represents, a real ale lovers gem. 10/10

Great location in the centre of the 'town' square. Vast selection of ales from far and wide. The Yates' Bee's Knees was in particularly excellant.
Friendly staff & locals.

Proper boozer in a great location on the handsome square of this small town (more like a village). an L-shaped bar serves one room that has part-walls extending to about waist height to give the place more intimacy, and this works well- the original layout of the pub is easy to visualise. A real fire is found in one pleasant corner, whilst a pool table is further back. The pub is renowened for it's real ale selection at any time, but I visited during the Broughton Beer Festival when this and other pubs in town serve 16 microbrewery beers each- excellent. Being short of time only tried the Yates' Autumn Fever, a copper-coloured beer that was very tasty. A mixed crowd on my visit, younger regualrs and some CAMRA branches who had made the trip from Wigan and Liverpool creating a good atmosphere. One of the best pubs in Furness and a frequent CAMRA award winner, you should endeavour to visit.

I visited this proper pub in May 2009 on my way to a family wedding. The choice of ales was fantastic, and as I only had limited time, I had 2 pints of the Yates' bitter. This was an excellent drink, made all the more pleasurable by being sold at 1.90 a pint. This is a real beer drinkers pub in the best traditions of the trade. A must if one is visiting the area, or, as I was, just passing through.

Friendly little pub with a good selection of real ales at reasonable prices. Cider & Perry also available. Visited Saturday night and there was a mix of all ages enjoying the well kept ales. Wish we could have stayed longer! Will definitely re-visit.

Excellent small-town pub, right on the little square. Open fire, 7 ales, bar snacks, craic, good atmosphere. It's got all you need!

A proper drinking pub rather than a restaurant that feels obliged to sell beer as well. Small hot snacks, juke box and a pool table, very friendly. A pub like they used to be. Excellent range of real ales. Enjoy

Superb Real Ale pub right on the town square. Always a good range of beers, many are local. The pub is very traditional, with a dark cool feel. Excellent.

There are some nice pubs in Broughton, but this is the favourite. Late in the summer afternoons the sun shines directly onto the front, which faces onto the Square. You will have to queue for the outside seats.
Always seems to have the tastiest real ales.Visit after a days walking and enjoy.

A very popular pub amongst real ale drinkers because of the number, range and quality of guest beers. One of 6-7 participants in the annual Broughton Festival of Beer.
