Went to the lynton Court for a meal on saturday 17th november enjoyed it immensely. The pub and restaurant has been transformed with a new make over. Very good atmosphere lovely surroundings , staff made us feel very welcome. Food was lovely, well worth a visit.

Closed about a month ago and is now in the process of being converted into a Travel Inn. Will not be missed except by those regulars mentioned by the previous poster.

Dear God, what on earth has anybody ever done to deserve a pub like this in there town.
Was in there on Fri/10/3/06, and have NO desire to go there again. The people in there were the roughest, most chavist, unruly, loudmouthed, uncouth bunch i have seen since.......well, ever really. The barman thought he was Tom Cruise in Cocktail. He really, really wasnt. The lager was flat, the glasses were dirtier than the ashtrays (and thats going some) and all in all it was a very very unpleasant experience.

Nice pub, nice staff except when they ignore their own signs and smoke at the bar. If you ask to be served at the food counter for drinks to avoid the smoke the managreess will tell you that the signs on the tables anouncing "easy ways to pay" on which it says you can purchase food and drink at any till, she will point out that it says food AND drink and ask you to come around the bar in the smoke. How pedantic and small minded can you get.
Good points are: good size car park at the rear as is a nice terrace for those warm summer eves.

A significant decoration and clean up has taken place recently so it is a much more pleasant place to be bored in.
The prices are reasonable, and a social evening is usually made lighter by a visit to the table by one of the many charity collecters of dubious integrity that pollinate the place. The charity is generally 'for a worthy cause', after you have stiffened your resolve to dismiss the collector it provides you with the welcome opportunity to mentally list all the 'unworthy causes' that you have encountered in past life. It makes a good pint taste even better!
Outside seating at front and rear.

On my last visit here a bloke at the next table spent his entire evening sending text messages. Just about sums up this boring, bland Brewers Fayre outlet. Sticking a pool table in the corner has done little or nothing to liven this place up.
