In March 2012 had a sign up saying the pub is now a private residence

Lovely location looking out over Breydon Water, with plenty of outdoor seating. I'm told this place has recently been refurbished and reopened under new owners. Blackfriars Maritime and Woodford's Wherry were on. The dining room was stiflingly hot after a very sunny day, but plenty of other areas were air conditioned. Food was so-so - my 'pork and leek sausages made with Aspalls Cider' were plainly cheap pale pink frozen sausages with not a trace of leek or cider, and very little pork! But my partner's burger and chips were good, with fresh made chips. Not listed here but also good beer and great views from the pub at the Burgh Castle Marina.

Had the experience of eating there......Ordered a cheeseburger for mains,I was so hungry. When it came out it was in a CIABATTA bun!?!??!! I complained saying that I ordered a cheeseburger not this and the waitress apologised and said that is how we do them.I couldnt eat it due to the crusty exterior of the 'bun'...I asked for money off due to the menu not stating this and not being told.Manager came out and I said why and he did take it off my bill.Quite embarrassing for the other people I was with to see me do this infront of them.I would go again but as the views of the Broads couldnt put me off and I just would avoid the 'cheeseburger' in future.

This should be a delightful dining experience with beautiful views from the dining room. It wasn't. We visited last Saturday having booked a table for 7.30.
Waited ages for the waiter. Ordered drinks and after 10 minutes he came back to take main order. 10 minutes later drinks brought and informed as so busy would be 45 minute wait for food. It arrived at 8.50 by which time it was dark and the idea of an after drink on the terrace would only have been any good to provide mosquito fodder. Locals at next table said new chef only there one week and everyone was govern there drinks for free because of the dealys.
Food quality good but allow 3 hours for the experience.

It could be a cracker situated there on the waterfront with views extending to the horizon, but exists mainly as a canteen for the residents of the many static caravan sites and 'holiday parks' around here. The cuisine features barbequed sausages taken on tressell tables complete with plastic table clothes in a draughty barn, with large parties of chavs up from Harlow and Basildon for half term for company.

You may want to try elsewhere.
