Lovely afternoon watching the tennis in here.
Very nice cider and friendly staff.
Punters were fun.

OK place for a beer or two. Number of punters sitting outside in the sun.
Some quite loud piped music was playing.
Big plasma screen showing cricket Eng v Aussies.
Can some one please tell me why with anywhere to stand by the bar there always seems to be some tosser standing in front of the hand pull blocking your view of what is on. Said offending person is always drinking larger too.
6 hand pulls 5 ales and I Cider.
I played safe with a nice pint of Harveys BB for £3.30.

Popped in for the music quiz on Monday and really enjoyed it. The host was quirky and funny, really good banter. Free to enter and to top it all off a 20 bar tab for first prize. Nice relaxed, clean pub. cheers guys!

Please note the name of the pub has now changed to The Blind Roland.

Wow thank you to everyone at the busker for a great night out, staff were lovely and really quick with drinks on what was a busy night. Food was good and great value for money.

Thanks again!

First time I went to this pub I was meeting up with some friends & was the first to arrive & being a woman on her own I was slightly apprehensive but I shouldn't have been! The staff were very friendly, good service with a smile & a varied clientele. Been back since & every time you get the same good service, the food is excellent value . Went with my boyfriend one night & he said the real ales are great & obviously well looked after. Can't wait for the summer when I will be making good use of the decking area at the front! Oh!! & the cocktail jugs deal on a Friday are fabulous!!! If you haven't been, you should definitely give it a go!

I have just arrived in Hove from East London and in doing so discovered this great pub. I genuinely feel THE BLIND BUSKER IS A WELL RUN, WELL PRESENTED, CHILLED OUT PUB. Cleary from previous reviews the pud has had rough times. As the new boy on the block I can only judge from my own experience... for me this pub offers free WiFi, well kept ales, polite staff and enough space to find a quite corner for a one 2 one over a home cooked dish. The management also have a reassuring presence. Well worth a visit. on the down side they need to fix the hand dryer in the gents and refill toilet rolls more often!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ps I just sold my hospitality business in London so i do know what I'm talking about. enjoy :-)

I moved to Hove a couple of months ago and would fully recommend this pub to everyone! The service is always friendly and I ate for the first time the other day and was really impressed! Good all rounder for food, atmosphere and great local talent on the open mic night!

Hi would like to say had a really nice time in this pub i dont live in this area but will def be coming back. The staff were excellant .really friendly and as we only popped in for a quick drink and ended up staying all night !! 10 out of 10

im impressed!! great pub, with great food and the atmosphere was cracking! however i will have a terribly bad hangover tomorrow... but hey. shit happens :)
legendthatis - 2 Apr 2011 02:43
Unless you have a sympathetic boss I would suggest you go somewhere else for a weekday lunchtime meal as the service is incredibly slow! Also can't understand why they don't open up the back as a beer garden to hide the wretched smokers away rather than having them on display in the area to the front! Very average pub and scruffy exterior which needs urgent attention. A couple of unremarkable real ales on offer together with the usual tasteless pop!

Thedrunkskunk are you sure youve ever been to the busker as it doesnt and hasnt ever sold boddingtons.
The staff are friendly and good. As for your corked wine coment its not a wine bar and most of the wine is screw cap.
Top pub with good staff, well done.
From.Paul - 3 Nov 2009 18:48
I have had so many two messed up experiences with having Boddingtons in this pub. I was sick for two days because the staff did not know how to clean the lines properly. The staff had no idea what Cabernet Sauv. was and did not know how to open the wine bottle. Wine was corked again they had no idea what that meant. The pub is laid out very well good for viewing sport but not for drink. So as a pub having shit beer and wine i really don't understand how it can be listed on here.
thedrunkskunk - 2 Nov 2008 17:23
Used to be pretty poor but popped in for a beer over the weekend and ended up staying for Sunday lunch - which was home cooked and excellent. The rest of the menu looks good, the beer is well kept and altogether it's a fine improvement on the Hogshead that was here before.

Not a bad pub at all. Nice enough place to have a couple of drinks either inside or out on the Terrace. Shows Sky Sports on several screens and usually a good atmosphere (by that i mean non-threatening) when Footy or Rugby is on. Never tried the food, although from what i've seen it looks like it's gone straight from the Freezer to the Microwave then onto your plate (But i guess it's rare to find a pub that serves genuine home cooked food these days). Would recommend.

THIS PUB HAS IMPROVED DRAMATICALLY SINCE THE NEW OWNERS HAVE TAKEN OVER, CLIENTEL HAS IMPROVED AND THE FOOD IS OUTSTANDING. HATS OFF, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK..
puppasmirf - 19 Mar 2007 12:00
The name change (in reference to a local busker)included a total refurb, stripped floorboards and new decor.

Very popular in the summer as the pub has a patio overlooking Church Road which catches the afternoon/evening sun, though plastic glasses are only allowed outside!!

Until recently a Hogshead pub, and a very good one. Need to investigate what changes have occurred.
