The place is now surrounded by scaffolding. Don't know if this is in preparation of renovation and re-opening or a sly lets knock it down and build some apartments

I reported this as being squatted last Feb on this site. The squatters did one loud party (albeit in a weekend before they were thrown out. It was squatted again in December - but with a difference - no bother was caused within the neighbourhood - it could have been like anyone was moving in legitimately. Last week this latest group of squatters was kicked out - and I was sad. The pub has now lain dormant for nearly two years with no plans to renovate it, and the homeless situation is getting worse. The latest squatters were exemplary members of the community, and were making a valid point in occupying a building that was being left to rot. Charringtons- the ball's in your court.

Sad to hear of the closure of the pub. As mentioned before, I worked there back in 1994. RIP The Freemasons Arms.

Boarded up......let me quess, flats?!!
An utter disgrace the way REAL pubs in Wood Green and elsewhere are closing down.
I don't want to drink in chain or theme pub.If i wanted something as bland as that, i'd wander rouns a supermarket.

Worked there back in 1994 before it was knocked through. Went back recently to hear that my old boss has been away at Her Majesty's Pleasure!.
I liked working there.

We went in on a Tuesday evening when they had Magic TV's George Michael marathon on, with the sound up - though there's a reasonable jukebox too.

It's a proper local, with prices to match - the beer selection's not fantastic (mostly lager), but there were a couple of ales on too.
